Is it possible to repair / replace the section of hose and grommet that fits over rear wiper unit on a Viano / Vito without replacing the whole tube from the reservoir? I have torn the grommet off whilst investigating whether there is water inside the rear wiper unit and cannot find the next...

Having had a repeat episode of this apparent power failure a further 3 random times, I have had the battery checked and replaced. Although the battery was charged to around 12.4v, it only had about 50% engine cranking amps. Apparently the reason the engine would start after around 5 - 10...

Touch wood, I seem to have resolved the issue my self. A smear of silicone grease around the entire sealing face of the seal has stopped the water penitrating. Storm Barbara will be the full test overnight!

Fingers cross it's solved. Bypass relay for the tow bar replaced yesterday and no spurious alarm sound since. Thanks for the heads-up.
