It is a software bug. Don't worry. Normally it should be at 780rpm with AC off and 880 with AC on. Sometimes it falls to 780 although AC is on. If you push hard on the brake pedal or rev to idle speed plus 200rpm it will settle at the right speed again Regards Matt

That´s what I thought when I first saw one, but spending a lot of time with them in development, they grew on me! Must admit though, the GLK looks much better from some angles than others, and as with most cars, the choice of rims makes a huge difference to the overall appearance in my opinion...

That certainly used to be the case, but since the year 2000 approximately, there are different drivetrain components for the lower powered models to save cost. C200cdi and C220 cdi in the W204 are a good example: the gearbox in the C200cdi is rated for only 270Nm, which is why this model only...

Not sure about the gearbox, but the engine ECU rates the driver all the time, to determine if you're a comfort driver or a dynamic driver. It collects data on pedal position, pedal acceleration, and vehicle lateral acceleration. You are then rated seperately for how you like to drive in corners...

:cool: All three! Our team is the one that fills all 25000 variables in the ECU with sensible numbers. In the case of the gearbox it has to be argued why the customer deserves more than 270Nm when it's so much more expensive (Save a few pounds per car, make thousands a day and make millions...

Some people smoke 60 cigarettes a day and also survive 80 years, doesn't mean everyone who does that will survive so long.

If the car is the new C class, think carefully. The C200cdi has a reduced cost gearbox that´s only rated for the 270Nm that the car produces. Regards Matt
