I had issues with a warranty claim from Bolton Merc last year, they also wanted to pass on the cost to me. I ended up having a big argument with the service manager and got my way at the end! They are an awful dealer and will never deal with them again! Shak

Is it registered before 2008?? If it is, its most likely the balancer shaft. There are a fair few threads online about this issue, just type in 'm272 issues' in google. Mines a 2006 with 40k at the moment, I luv the drive ability of these engines but this issue does worry me sometimes, hopefully...
