how proned are the glowplugs for snapping?

MB will have something to help, also check if they do a reamer before new úns go in. This will help seat the base of the GP preventing blow by.

how proned are the glowplugs for snapping?

Brake cleaner would seep past the piston rings very quickly ending up in the sump. My 'Wallis & Grommit' :D solution involves making a small circular reservoir, perhaps out of clay or similar around the glow plug. Top this up with diesel or other dissolving fluid driving as normal, might work?

    !996 S124 E220 parts or complete

Hello Nick, Unfortunately that's the interior which I removed. There are some fawn colour interior parts left if you need those for something else. I meant to add it has four Mercedes alloys along with the steel wheels. They are not in great shape though, refurb suggested.

    Fuel Sender leak W202

The small metal plug looks to be the access point for the MB pump. This is where they pressurise the tank when emptying. I would first check the other pipes connected to the same fitting, diesel has a habit of tracking across from one place to the next easily.

    W202 fuel tank question

Hello bud, The centre part is the sender itself which is held in place by a ring. If you look up it has four notches similar to a watch back which a special tool locates into. It's similoar to the top left in the attached pdf below...

How can I find if gearbox oil has been changed?

Easy way is by colour (and smell) old ATF turns a brown colour, if it's been changed recently it should retain the bright 'black current cordial' colour. To check get a 4' length a 8mm clear nylon tube, make sure its meticulously clean then remove filler cap - NOTE this may invalidate your...

The joys of pouring ATF into a diesel tank.....

I would personally steer clear of petrol for two reasons, firstly it's a solvent which can damage seals not designed to handle it, secondly it has no lubricating properties - Try small quantities of mineral ATF to begin with mixed thoroughly with a tank of diesel - if you try it lets us know...
