Thanks for yr replies Mercland, it does have the through loading so I will try to free the lock mechanism first, and if not atack it from the rear seats, are the seat squabs easy to shift??

I have a similar problem on my V6 CLK when I try to accelerate (usually onto a busy road!!) the engine 'falters' for just a couple of seconds then goes off like a scalded cat, could it be the MAF ?? any help appreciated Rob
