Took the C230 for a drive

On 27th April I went for another drive... As you can see, the tuning I have done to the car is totally innefective and its still a boring slow C230 Kompressor, I shouldve got a ported head done by a DTM team like that guy was saying on here I guess, lol...

    Oil catch tank

Jesus wept. I cant even belive im replying to someone so totally clueless they think cruddy oil residue being sucked through a turbo compressor wheel is good to lubricate it, but I look back after a few days and find you calling me pathetic names, so... I was seeing oil when the vac from the...

    Oil catch tank

Lol. I dont know much about diesels, and no idea if you do either, but for petrol engines, thats properly funny, especially the valve lubrication thing which is just daft- You DO realise why fuels consist of some of the things they do, dont you?! Infact a little basica google research finds...

    Oil catch tank

No oil gunk filled boost pipes, sensors, intercoolers, and turbos. Reducing compressor efficiency, reducing flow, reducing cooling, lowering the det threshold, and messing up sensor readings. No crankcase pressure buildups from setups more concerned with goverment regulations on car emissions...

    Oil catch tank

For the last 20k miles my C230k has been venting into a lucozade sport bottle (orange flavour if it helps). Doing 700 miles a week in the car, RR'd at 226bhp and 242lbft, has 182k on the original engine, pretty much no oil consumption, zero smoke from the exhaust, clean MAF and boost pipes...

Took the C230 for a drive

Not bad considering people didnt even believe it was as fast as an E46 330...

W202 C230 Kompressor standard boost pressure (and boost curve)???

In all honesty, small capacity N/A tuning, especially in a larger car, is just not worth it really mate. No point throwing your money at expensive head and cam work for nothing. With C230Ks available in decent condition for under 1k these days (I paid 700 with a long MOT and great condition...

W202 C230 Kompressor standard boost pressure (and boost curve)???

Im not sniping, sorry if it sounds like I am. And people giving massively incorrect tuning advice is a massive pet hate and the main problem with the internet and internet forums, as its all chinese whispers of utter BS. Mercs are very tuneable cars, but due to the 'scene' just being one...

W202 C230 Kompressor standard boost pressure (and boost curve)???

Wow. Honestly, wow. Quick, tell hundreds of thousands of people for decades they were wrong, as this you know better than the rest of us who have done testing and have experience of it too. K&N must be reading this and getting ready to shut up shop. Rallying and tuning legend Roger Clarke...

W202 C230 Kompressor standard boost pressure (and boost curve)???

No. No I didn't. You said. Which is a complete borrox blanket statment not true in the vast majority of tuned forced induction cars, the C230K included it seems. Especially as... Simple.

W202 C230 Kompressor standard boost pressure (and boost curve)???

I read it, but its hugely short sighted. In an ideal world a cold air feed is best of course. But it comes second to having enough airflow in the first place. It doesnt matter a flying fook how cold the air is if the airbox thats making sure the air is cold is a restriction. Unrestricted...

W202 C230 Kompressor standard boost pressure (and boost curve)???

I'm not being hostile in the slightest. I think the page after page of people slating everything I said is fairly hostile mind you, lol. I just find someone telling people a blanket statement that cone filters dont work and will lose them power, is ridiculous. Especially when they have never...

W202 C230 Kompressor standard boost pressure (and boost curve)???

Maybe you should. Cone filters dont exist literally everywhere in worldwide tuning because people are stupid and dont realise everyone should always stick with a panel filter in the standard airbox. They exist because a great number of airboxes are highly restrictive due to being designed to...
