looking at all the info on this forum i am tempted to change the valve body. i was looking at Three Pointed Parts in Taunton to get the part and then just hope that it cures the problem. the gearbox drives lovely with no knocks or anything. just hoping someone can give me a bit of advice on here.

Slipping out of gear and slow change from 3rd to 4th kind of over revving slightly on the change. The valves in the box came up with no problems on the star system.

it has done 143000 miles. there was a very very small piece of swarf on the magnet but no metallic filings as such. the piece of swarf was curved if that's any help. it was only say 3-4 mm in length. the oil that went in was comma automatic transmission and psf mvatf plus fully synthetic. 4...

the old oil was brown. no burnt smell. it does seem like a valve to me as it will go into the neutral and once its back in gear again i will induce the change again and it will kick down perfect. its strange. do i have to go to a Mercedes dealer to have it plugged itto the star system?

it goes into a neutral gear and if you are coasting and maintaining speed it wont select back into drive. you have to slow down for it to re engage back into drive.
