Front Brake Pads (and pins) for W211 E320 CDI 2006 facelift Estate

Hi, Confused as two dealerships advised that A0004208404 - the usual choice for W211 is NOT suitable and that I need A0004208004 which actually is normally for CLS rather than E-class (and 35% more expensive). Some websites list these as the same (or more correctly list the same brake pads...

Is W212 Xenon ballast compatible with W211? What do ballasts actually do?

Unfortunately it looks like ballast in W211 is much more than ballast. On a working W211 it looks like with OBDII - like tool I am actually able to get some information from the ballast like voltages, rear axle feed, even whether the light is in the tourist mode. On W211 with non-working light...

Is W212 Xenon ballast compatible with W211? What do ballasts actually do?

Hi, Looks like ballasts for W212 are much more abundant than for W211. Some (though not most) Ebay sellers list them as inter-compartible. (I.e. that the same ballast is listed as compatible with part number 5DC009060-00 (W211 ballast), 5DC009060-20 (W212 ballast) and a few others.) What does...

Goodyear UltraGrip Performance - Shocking Degradation (at least visually)

Sorry, typo, I meant UltraGrip Performance is vastly inferior to Continental TS850 (a winter tyre I had for many years on W210 used all season with no issues and very good performance). Unfortunately TS850 was not available in 17 245 45 for W211.

    W211 2006 E320CDI bi-Xenon lights keep breaking

Hi, Problem started about a year ago due to accidental damage. Second-hand lights assembly was purchased and fitted. The fitment was not perfect in a sense that gaps between the lights and bodywork were a bit larger than on the side that did not have issues. Within about 2-3 months the Xenon...

Buckled Wheel - will it pass MOT?

But in reality 12-15 year old corroded alloys often sell for just under half the price of a new ones... Would seem makes sense to buy a new one - but then chances are it will either not fit the next car or will have to be declared to insurers as non-OEM part.... With regard to Health and...

Buckled Wheel - will it pass MOT?

If we assume Kwik Fit are not responsible for any damage for the wheel, nevertheless they took a wheel with a tyre on that was not loosing any air in and on the way out there way a wheel/tyre that was loosing air badly. The deformation of the wheel could have easily been seen prior to removing...

Buckled Wheel - will it pass MOT?

Yes, not necessarily Kwik Fit is responsible for all the damage (or any of it), especially the crack... All I am saying that I can't believe my wheel had all this damage (including quite a massive crack on the front) before it went to Kwik Fit given that it was not loosing air at any noticeable...

Buckled Wheel - will it pass MOT?

Also is there any significant scrap metal value in the wheel?

Buckled Wheel - will it pass MOT?

Obviously I do not believe that my wheel had all this damage before Quick Fit as it was holding air perfectly for years.

Buckled Wheel - will it pass MOT?

Bad news... Got a picture and a call from wheel straightener. Apparently there WAS a crack there on the front side which he only noticed once took of the tyre and placed it on a straightening machine.... So now it is 65 for straightening and 50 for welding 115 in total.... Makes no...

Goodyear UltraGrip Performance - Shocking Degradation (at least visually)

Questioning one extreme does not mean jumping to another. Switched to winter tyres after finding W210 totally undrivable in snow with top brand (Mich or Cont) summer tyres - after advice on forums. The car would go sideways towards the curb rather than forwards. Winter tyre Continental TS850...

Goodyear UltraGrip Performance - Shocking Degradation (at least visually)

Questioning one extreme does not mean jumping to another. I compared one winter tyre to another. I used each of the for around 4years. 1. Continental TS850 had a much better grip than Goodyear UltraGrip Performance on snow. 2. Continental TS850 had a much better grip/handling than Goodyear...

Buckled Wheel - will it pass MOT?

Obviously being pleased that my paperwork is now good for another year, I did think about this. I do plan to take the car to a good specialist for a full service....

Buckled Wheel - will it pass MOT?

They did show me the damage only AFTER they removed the old tyre even though I was standing all the time about 8 meters away from the car as it was on their racks. Apparently they noticed it only after removing the old tyre...... Also the mechanic with whom the wheel is now indicated it might...
