Hi Chaps, my start stop is not! Its a W212 2011 pre face lift. Many posts on here suggest the Aux battery is responsible for the start stop but on my estate it is at the back of the boot, given the current used by the starter motor I would suggest it has nothing to do with the start stop...

From what i can gather either will do as the 1200mm doesn't go all the way in so dont push it too far!

Just to update on driving it today, had to pick some people up and as i didn't get over 60 the gearbox was smooth. The only time it seemed to rev a little high was going up a hill, but there were 3 of us in it. I am hoping its just run low?

Nope not on the engine, i recently fixed the exhaust havn't touched the engine since last filter change

Also could you recommend dipstick, oil and filter, i think it will be worth changing it and see what happens. Should i do filter or could i just change the oil? My Transmission is a 722618 02 652963 so that's a 722.6? Stuart

Gearbox oil never changed its done 150,000 miles, could it be low do you think? Can you recommend a dip stick for it or do i have to take it to Mercedes? I can get it on my mates ramps tomorrow is there anything i can do without a dip stick?

Hi Chaps, my W210 has just developed a fault where if i put to much load on the engine the gearbox changes gear from 5th to 4th. This is new, its consistent, and it will not then change back into 5th. I have to slow down and take the load right off then eventually it will change back into 5th...
