obviously depending on your circumstances i would go for the 500 v8 model. these engines are bomb proof with regular servicing and oil changes they will go on and on. there are lots out there so take your time and find the right one.what coulr are you after out of interest. ps im not selling one...

with regard to your cats i have a w140 s500 saloon and the previous owner an independent mercedes specialist removed the cats on mine in it runs so much better and has a lovely exhaust tone. he removed the cat pipes cut open the top of the cats pulled out all the ceramic stuff and welded it back...
