Right searched a lot on this and the egr can not just be blanked off as will go into limp mode (w203 c220cdi coupe) can you blank it off and leave the egr connected plugged into the connection sort of hidden out the way or will this just knacker the engine as will still be opening and closing...

Mine gave fault codes but once cleared turned out to be egr valve caused safe mode to kick in and be fine after restart cleaned both ends and fine scince just an idea mines 220cdi 100789miles
