    vito 639 seats

Beware ! Seat fitment is subject to type approval from new and normally any retro fitment should meet the relevant pull test requirements. This can be achieved by purchasing a system already meeting the requirements and certificated as such. This is particularly relevant where the seat belts are...

    Maxi fuse !

After fitting 6 new glow plugs, I noticed a slight blow from under the bonnet of my Vito. The blow is only when the turbo starts speeding up and, as I can't look under there while driving, I needed to eliminate all the possible problem areas. I discovered that the "o" ring in the cast alloy pipe...

Glow plug thread repair in Cambridgeshire

I drilled mine out without destroying the thread and collapsed it inwards, fiddly but saved removing the head and all that involves ! Mine was what I believe is number 4, front right ?

    Glow plugs

Just changed the glow plugs on my 120cdi, took me three days ! All was going well until number 4 which show some resistance but not thought to be enough to cause damage ! So I thought . Fact was, it had sheared and the only reason it didn't show up as being broken was that the centre core was...

    Breakdown cover ?

Thanks for that. As we also have dogs, ( two ), it is a relevant factor. With yours and Saff's response, I have decided that Mayday is the one for me. Many thanks to you and all who have responded, even the silly ones ! Cliff

    Breakdown cover ?

Many thanks for this comment. I have been undecided, but now your friend's experience has tipped the balance ! I don't anticipate having any mishaps, but you never know. Mayday, Mayday !

    Breakdown cover ?

Not really. I asked if anyone had experience of this situation. My problem with Green Flag is that you can get any old back street garage respond. My last call out to the AA saw a wreak of a recovery wagon arrive with a guy who just about knew one end from the other, didn't have a clue about the...

    Breakdown cover ?

Renewal of my AA cover is due but I have a question about breakdown cover. I tow a caravan and was wondering if anyone out there has had experience of breaking down, ( vehicle that is ! ), whilst towing. I can't get a positive answer from the AA about what happens to the caravan. The Caravan...

    Glow plugs - Vito 120cdi

That's just how it is with mine, but starts, ( I know it's warm weather ), and runs as usual. Thanks for your response.

Why you shouldn't fit aftermarket HID kits

In a previous life I checked testers standards and headlamp aim was frequently assessed incorrectly, mostly aligning the aim tester with the vehicle. Testers often moved the aim tester to make the headlamp aim correct ! The aim test has been simplified, so that the parameters are much wider now...

    Glow plugs - Vito 120cdi

I've had the glow plug image coming on as soon as the engine starts for a few weeks now. It goes off after a couple of minutes and stays off until the engine is stopped and re started. It never used to do this, so I suspect a fault either with a glow plug or the controller. Looking on fleabay...

    Oil level rising on dipstick

I can confirm that this can happen. The engine is just in a mechanical situation where it is picking up oil and using it as fuel with no control. If you're very brave, you can stop it running by stopping it getting any air. Engines do not run without air 'cos it can't burn without oxygen !
