I don't have one currently, so I cannot enjoy what I do not have.
I find the vitriol over an engine amazing. I bet you go around screaming at kids when they talk about the m157. I'd say you need to get out more, but you'd only go and lick windows so should probably stay in.
You're a strange man lol. Very much an ultracrepidarian with a misologist tendancy. All this over an engine lol. I'd feel sorry for your wife if you had one.
In fact, tell you what, I've never driven a car with the 6.2 or not 5.5, so put your money where your mouth is and let me have a drive of your car so that I can form a valid opinion on it.
It's more a case of that I'm not considering a car fitted with the M156, so why would I give a flying **** about it and anyone's opinions on an engine I don't want?
Thanks to everyone who offered sensible input.
Re how I want to use any car that I may or may not buy, well, that's up to me.
An LSD would be the first thing being fitted if the car didn't already have one. Having owned an E55 without an LSD it is a must. 3 of my last 4 cars have had an LSD...
The W212 E63 facelift is going to be my next car. Is there anything I really need to be aware of?
I plan on tuning it, is the bent rod issue actually as big an issue as the internet makes it out to be?
I know that MSL cap at 660bhp, but I thought it was torque and not power that caused issues...
Rod bearings on the s65 and s85 is a thing. I know several owners who left it too late and the bearings failed.
Mine had copper showing on several of them when I had mine changed.
The S63 suffers rod bearing issues, bent rods, injector failure, oil pump failure on the earlier cars, I think...
I don't understand the owning a car to keep it nice for the next owner. It's a car, use it as it was intended. Yes it may go up in value if not used, but where is the fun in that?
