    W210 Query

E320 CDi .....check the top radiator hose, mine was collapsing under acceleration making the engine run hot and I think if the bottom hose is doing the same then the guage will read low.

    w210 e320 cdi fuel filter

I did get a hesitant start before I changed all the pipes mainly due to three of the pipes leaking diesel and drawing air into the system.......the new pipes made all the difference and she now starts on the button!

    w210 e320 cdi fuel filter

I have replaced all fuel pipes including O rings (4 of!!) costs approx £90 but worth it....easy diy job...a couple of hours max.MB will give you a bit of discount if you buy them all at once. My fuel filter top was ok so did not replace but I guess it don't cost that much.

    W210 fighting rust advice

lol...... Recycled steel is graded from selection to remelt, slag is given off as mainly sub smelted metal impurities but not ultra low carbon impurities such as salt, these impurities are burned off due to the smelting process and cannot exist in a controlled process at end result...

    W203 220cdi Glow heater light

I will second the point about making sure the engine is piping hot before trying to remove the glow plugs, do not do this with a cold engine! I will also second that the reason they normally snap off in the head is because the exposed threads in the head ports eventually collect loads of carbon...

w203 c220 cdi coupe starting problem

No prob's m8, Not deffo saying it is that but am 90% sure it is a prob in that circuit somewhere having seen the computer read out......all points to a heating/emission prob.........lol, lovely cars Merc's except for the rust on my model! cheers.

w203 c220 cdi coupe starting problem

p.s. ......this relay is not servicable and you will not be able to repair it. It works like a current rectifier on a motorcycle (to put it simply!), when they wear out on older cars the car will start eventually but you get loads of black smoke until the engine reaches temperature, then the...

w203 c220 cdi coupe starting problem

just read all ur posts! The comp read out suggests a cold start problem.......which sounds pretty much like I said, deffo get the g/plug relay checked out or better still, borrow one off someone to check it out! Sorry don't know where your relay is but it is usually situated around the...

w203 c220 cdi coupe starting problem

........I am pretty sure it is not air ingress into the fuel, if it was then you would have lots of grey-ish smoke and it would be lumpy,it would also readily start when the air had cleared. Excess/unburned diesel will give black smoke at cold. Remove the g/plug relay and have it tested just to...

w203 c220 cdi coupe starting problem

....not exactly sure on your model but I am pretty sure the glow plug circuit continues to work for approximately up to 1 minute after starting which is why I suggest checking the glow plug relay out, they are common failures on diesels whatever make.

w203 c220 cdi coupe starting problem

Have you disconnected and white greased all and any solenoids you can find, try this in the main fuse box too, it sounds to me like a weak eleccy problem somewhere, maybe if it starts ok first thing in the morning ok then it could be a problem with the glow plug control unit or related to that...

    w210 e320 cdi estate/1 inch pipe?

Hi all! Can anyone tell me what the following is???? The large black rubber pipe that goes to the inlet of the turbo has a 1" pipe that joins it approximately 6 inches back from the turbo inlet, followed upwards this 1" pipe then connects to a round-ish black plastic thing on top of the...

w210 e320 cdi estate/sooty blackish smoke on acceleration?

I did cure a diesel leak/replaced all the pipes from the hi pressure pump and had to remove the pipes that go to the turbo to do it. I did notice some oil sitting in the turbo inlet and the small one inch pipe that joins the large turbo inlet pipe was crudded up with oil. This one inch pipe...

w210 e320 cdi estate/sooty blackish smoke on acceleration?

It kinda gets 125 miles through the week and then a bit at the weekends...at differing speeds (not clogging it), it doesent look exactly like black smoke, more sooty looking (lots of it!!) but no loss of any bodily fluids so have more or less figured out cylinder head or oil consumption.
