    Gotcha !

There's a bit of a story behind that one I believe on Pistonheads... That and another car I believe were abandoned for months/years there. Thought to be foreign doctors having moved back abroad or something. The other one's gone now! ETA- Talking about the errant Panda!

    STOP! Police!

It's so rare to see decent, anticipatory driving from members of the public that it's massively appreciated by professional drivers of all varieties. I take pride in my driving and it's nice to "get it right", reading situations correctly. Like spotting an artic approaching the junction and...

    Clipped my wing mirror

True, thankfully it was never recorded or seen as a collision because there is no tangible damage to either vehicle. My Mazda only cost £600 so there is very little I would put through insurance. The case prep unit failed to grasp this fact. Although I wouldn't be surprised if the other driver...

Thanks :) I'm an agreeable chap most of the time, honest...

    Clipped my wing mirror

I think it's mainly due to a case preparation employee with a poor grasp of the law and evidence :)

    Clipped my wing mirror

Right, well it's not a good result and I suspect certain posters will be rubbing their hands with glee, however I had a non-productive telephone conversation with the local case preparation unit today who aren't going to run the case. Basically, the person responsible said that it was a...

When right is wrong and wrong is right ??

Roundabout claims have a very nasty habit of ending 50/50...

I can't decide if that is meant to sound as patronising as it does. I deal with liars every day. The point I was making was that- 1) It would have no bearing on the DWDCA charge and 2) It would be almost certainly be disbelieved in Court.

Own car. I was on a day out with my mum, further emphasising the fact that I wouldn't have stopped the driver for a trifling incident. Have just sold the "VW".... Very sorely tempted by an 03 reg 745i on Pistonheads at the moment for £5000. Yeah, I know.. :ban: ;)

It's technically possible to lay information for a "private summons" but rarely happens I believe.

    Clipped my wing mirror

Quite. I know that the days are gone when the Police are automatically believed by Magistrates however I am a qualified response driver (3 week course) and indeed used to drive the road in question daily so haven't raised a summons on a whim, but because I was genuinely frightened by the manner...

He'd be clearly lying. I was completely stationary at the time of the incident and he castigated me for where I had STOPPED.

    Clipped my wing mirror

We'll see. You might be surprised. I had an admittedly non-independent witness in my car. And the fact I followed him for nearly 4 miles does indicate that something happened, would hardly have done so if I didn't think it necessary.

I'm a detective. Whilst off duty I wouldn't usually bother but the attitude test towards the incident was spectacularly failed. From his comments and attitude, I inferred that he had deliberately driven closely to me, at speed, in order to teach me a lesson for stopping in the wrong place. And...

    Clipped my wing mirror

I encountered a fool approaching me at great speed on a lane recently, despite there being a passing place about 10-20m up the road I was unable to reach it without risking a collision, so tucked the car in as far as possible and stopped, said fool continued at dangerous speed towards and past...

    1. I am a stupid boy.

Nice to be back, briefly, if only to express my glee at making a profit on an electrical item after 2 years of use! :)

    1. I am a stupid boy.

Very belated resurrection of this topic... Haven't been round here much recently :- Finally decided after 2 house moves (In and out of my flat- Another story!) and 2 years of heavy use that I need something smaller. Just sold it on eBay for £227. Paid cash :D

How about a LG32 LD for 2 pence

You will not get the TV. Most, if not all, websites have a small "Errors and Omissions Excepted" clause displayed. And no, you do not have a leg to stand on under consumer regs since it's so clearly a mistake...

Parking - fair cop or travesty of justice

I agree with the first, however DO NOT ignore a County Court summons even in relation to a private car park. The only way they will ever win is by a default judgement.

Old Names Missing - anyone know how they are?

I'm still lurking! On Pistonheads a lot at the moment as there are loads of local events... Check in here now and again but notice a lot of the threads just tend to turn into arguments so don't add my two penn'orth!
