    W211 E280CDi kangarooing

Not sure Kangarooing is correct but it's the closest I could come up with..so here are the symptoms... The car drives perfectly in all aspects but occasionally when pulling away from a junction to turn right and having to accelerate harder than normal the car starts kangarooing (jerking badly)...

    996 Turbo to an SL400

It's actually Boxster Red , that's the name , sometimes called Terracotta. I think they spent far too long on the interior , nothing of the wheels or engine.

    996 Turbo to an SL400

Thats a really nice car , the third radiator will definitely help and 345hp is more than enough. I had a Cayman S before the Turbo and 300hp was enough tbh.

    996 Turbo to an SL400

I don't really have any good photos of my 911 but here is the original video from Williams Crawford that made me part with a large wedge.

    996 Turbo to an SL400

That's true, the E class (W211) I have is a joy to work on , just did a gearbox/torque converter fluid change last week , with the aid of Youtube it was a breeze and using MB genuine parts/fluid not much at all. The 911 has had a coolant pressure check and it's holding very well, no leak down at...

    996 Turbo to an SL400

I might do a thread but probably on 911UK or another Porsche site...dunno yet. I'll send some photos when I get it back home. It's using a small amount of coolant , no intermix and no overheating , new rads and no drips anywhere so might be a cracked head. I've always wanted to strip a M96 down...

    996 Turbo to an SL400

The strangest thing happened and I think it was divine intervention. I was looking on eBay a saw a really worn out early 996 C2 Coupe manual for sale with "engine issues" not too far away (1.5hrs which is close for us) it's in Arena Red with ambers. Long story short I bought it and intend to...

    996 Turbo to an SL400

I was right into those about 5yrs ago , lovely cars but I don't think I'm a Jag man.

    996 Turbo to an SL400

That's all we ever take , I don't really need that to be honest. We travel light.

    996 Turbo to an SL400

Not really, it'a very simple car to be honest. Very basic electronics which helps but spark plug change is probably the most time consuming (on the Turbo) . I did a clutch, flywheel and IMS bearing swap on the Boxster and it really straight forward , the Turbo is quite similar in its construction.

    996 Turbo to an SL400

The Boxster was brilliant for touring , it has a "frunk" and a boot. Once did an hour solid at 115mph (wife being the speed limiter) in Germany in that , just a 986 2.7. The 911 has a load of space in the back (seats) as well as the frunk , I hardly take anything , just a small travel bag.

    996 Turbo to an SL400

Mine's a Turbo , they're pretty bombproof and I do all the work on it myself as i have a large workshop and a lift. They're very simple really and very cheap if you do it yourself. Let's face it all cars have problems and always will. I've just done a transmission/torque converter fluid change...

Wanted To BUY - A nice example W211 E320 or E280 CDI Estate.

I bought one last year, a really good one. Pay up to £6k and get the best one available , you won't regret it. You will have to fix a few things now and then as it's an old car but they're worth the investment , and they look timeless.

    996 Turbo to an SL400

I went back to look at the 400 last night..what a car for the money. I mean I'm not looking to get a car to match the 911 for road manners etc , this car will only be used for big trips in the Summer , for £30k you can get a peachy one. I'm not giving up on an SL just yet , I know which my wife...

OK it looks like I'm keeping the 911. Very glad I asked.

    996 Turbo to an SL400

Thanks for the replies everyone. I bought the Turbo with 8k miles 2 years ago (was in a collection) so I've done a few with it but I don't drive for the sake of it and only the summer. The 400 appears to have plenty of torque and easily fast enough for British roads , I understand it's not a...

    996 Turbo to an SL400

I currently have a mint 996 Turbo (14k miles) Black /red leather , manual etc. It's a fantastic car but i've always wanted an SL (R230) as I never liked the R231 but now I do and from what I've read, the 400 might be the best all round option (tax on the 500 is like £700+) Question is do I go...

    NSF Sagged

New one fitted, paid a garage £10 to fit the new spring to the shock , went in easily really and now sitting perfect height again. DIY spring compressors won't compress this spring , for safety and general injury avoidance I would take it to a garage and use a proper floor mount unit...Mercedes...

    NSF Sagged

Ordered a new one from Mercedes , the bottom coil had snapped off. Shocks look fine as does the rubbers gator and bump stop. Just doing the one as I'm strapped for cash just now. £76 so not too bad. Old one came out really easy.
