    Pillow's C216 CL600 Project

In that case your only option is to find someone willing to use Vediamo or someone that has DAS with developer mode who will then need to manually go through each or the necessary modules and enable the needed features.

    Pillow's C216 CL600 Project

So the last time I spoke to the chaps from Comand Online in Lightwater they said Mercedes were not allowing Distronic Plus to be added to the datacard but regular Distronic was fine. I am not sure exactly how it fits together on the W211 but it is possible on the 216 and 221 to enable it...

    Pillow's C216 CL600 Project

Distronic without plus was available in some markets early on, I think Australia was one such place. They are the only places you'll find cars equipped as such. Everywhere else would just have had the plus option. (Such as here) The sensors behind the bumper operate on a different frequency to...

    Pillow's C216 CL600 Project

Thanks, I hope the thread serves as a good guide for some of the things you may face! I have not gotten around to the distronic retrofit yet but I do have the most important part in my possession - the wiring harness. It is technically possible to retrofit both normal distronic and plus but...

    Pillow's C216 CL600 Project

So the idea around a retrim came to me because of my disappointment about how there were some missed opportunities to bring together the various panels around the car. I also felt that black interior, with piano black trim was maybe not doing the trim the justice it deserved, so wanted an...

    Pillow's C216 CL600 Project

Well, it has been a good while since the last update - things have slowed down considerably as the amount I can actually do for the next few pieces are a bit restrictive. Namely: Interior retrim. Splash of paint. A bit of mechanical surgery. So, picking up where we left off - February this...

    cl65 2010

Yeah but that's just the cost of owning a car with this engine. Plenty have replaced coils at low mileage. My only concern with high mileage vehicles are things like oil change intervals could have been neglected or extended somewhat, but easy enough to check.

    cl65 2010

Great find. Mileage is largely irrelevant. There's nothing additional that could fail at 200k that could not have already failed at 100k.

Mercedes engines still unable to compress water.

I always wonder why they do this

Wanting new exhaust tips for the CL

Personal opinion: twin pipes on each side need the bumper with separate diffuser. You'd only get a pair of peashooters out the existing cutout and I think cutting it bigger is not a nice look. The factory 65 looks wonderful and is what I would target if I were in your shoes. (And incidently...

Parts in motion - anyone had experience of them?

Yes, me too. And, like you, I've never had any issues with their parts. In fact I had a Lemforder control arm which deteriorated prematurely. That's not to say I wouldn't buy Lemforder in future, but I think personal experiences can vary significantly from brand to brand and part to part.

Parts in motion - anyone had experience of them?

Never had any issues with orders from parts in motion. Between those two brands I would go with Febi because I know they are the OEM for control arms on some models. Having said that I have used Borg & Beck for my rear discs and they've been fine.

W215 CL55 AMG project series - It has begun

Question @alexanderfoti ; would you offer something similar to this as a service? My cl shows very early and light signs of surface rust over the rear subframe. Dropping it while the car is on axle stands and trolley jacks is not something I fancy!

The UK Politics & Brexit Thread

Yeah but nothing on the voting slip said anything about that. It was a simple in-out vote. And now we're out, referendum delivered on. If the EU do indeed have our "gonads" it's because we put them there, not because they took them. The success or failure is down to government. As I...

Hi I'm TC. I'm new to this forum and have already found loads of useful information.

While I can't give any specific advice, have you tried tracing the wiring back from the fuel pump?

    W204 Door Card

They will say that because Mercedes would never breakdown a composite part like this because it comes from the factory "pre-assembled" I've had a quick look on ebay and it seems the constituent parts of the door card are all plastic welded together, so you break the door card down into...

    W204 Door Card

The arm rest will be replaceable. It may either be attached with a screw of some sort to the card, or a more permanent fixing like a plastic weld. Obviously if it is screwed it's an easy swap, if it has plastic welds you would need to grind/cut off the weld and replace. You could then...
