Aux input connection for Sound 20

Hi Merc fans. I want to run an aux input (3.5mm jack for audio) to the stereo in my 2006 Vito, which has the original Sound 20 stereo (which is actually pretty good sound-wise). Found this on Amazon, and just want to check the compatibility. It's a three-pin clip-in on the rear, and I'm pretty...

2006 Vito 639 - 'Door Open' but isn't. And it doesn't say which one (isn't)!

Thanks everyone. I'll try the careful contact cleaning first, and see what happens. I also wonder if the push pin behind the rubber seal needs a clean. Next sunny day (okay, not wet or miserable day) I'll get busy with it.

2006 Vito 639 - 'Door Open' but isn't. And it doesn't say which one (isn't)!

Morning all. Foggy, frosty, etc. My 06 Vito keeps telling me a door is open, when none of them are. Intermittent 'meeep' and dash display... annoying. Perhaps more common on left-hand bends. Have had a quick check around, but can't see any problem. Anything obvious to look for? Can I clean...

Vito 639 passenger door not locking/unlocking with fob

More than likely, thinking about it. I guess it's an easy check, once I've got past all the sticky black goo....

Vito 639 passenger door not locking/unlocking with fob

Hi. As above. Have just had the electric window motor replaced, but not sure if it's related... anyway... Passenger door not locking or unlocking with fob. Any ideas? Can open from inside and the thingy pops up, but that's it. all other doors unlock/lock no problem. Thanks in advance, George

Vito 2006 639 SWB van trailing arms AAAAGGHH!!

I can't give you a definitive or informed answer on this Dan, sorry. My only guess would be that if they're both in the same position, they're probably meant to be that way. You've probably figured it out either way already, anyway!

Thanks Nigel. I'm not even going to try doing it myself. I just want to pretend I know what to do when I have it dragged into hospital. :)

2207 W639 Vito Sport front coils and top bushes...

Hi enventee, Let mw know how it goes, or went... My passenger side front snapped yesterday - luckily I noticed before I'd even left the driveway. Now I've just got to figure out how to get it to my local mechanic. Weirdly, it seems to have snapped while I wasn't driving it, or at least it was...

Vito 2006 639 SWB van trailing arms AAAAGGHH!!

Hi there, everyone. What started out as a potential brake issue evolved into a bearings issue, and the bearings just won't come out. The bearings were shot, but attempts to remove the hubs have snapped several specialist tools, and it looks like the only remedy is to replace the trailing arms...

    Motorway speed judder build-up

Have had that all checked out, and all tyres replaced and wheels balanced at the same time. Pretty sure it's the bearings but waiting on the repair.

    Motorway speed judder build-up

I'm guessing (literally) that if it wasn't brake or bearing related, it wouldn't explain the wheel on one side being hotter than the other. It's not the brakes, as I've had the rear brakes completely overhauled. Luckily, they needed doing anyway and the rear adjuster had seized. Of course...

    Motorway speed judder build-up

Update.... The brakes needed a look anyway, but turns out it's not the cause of the judder. RHS rear wheel is getting hot, but it's not brake related as far asI can tell. I'm guessing it's therefore a bearing issue, and I'm also guessing it's wise to give both sides the same treatment if so...

    Motorway speed judder build-up

Well, if anyone is faintly interested, it seems the problem is likely related to a loose brake part. I know - thrilling stuff. Stay tuned.

    Motorway speed judder build-up

Would make sense, I suppose. But why the judder on a supposedly even road surface, and only at a certain speed? I'll take a closer look underneath tomorrow - couldn't tell if the springs were wet or had oil on them.

    Motorway speed judder build-up

Afternoon hive-mind. Hope your'e all vaguely sane and well. So. Yesterday I took a dual carriageway journey. Whoo-hoo! At about 70mph a faint low rumble began at the back end. It escalated to almost a judder. Muffled noise, no banging but obvious issue. Almost like I'd wandered onto a rumble...

Getting rid of the dashboard service reminder

I can endure it. Just wondered if anyone had a temporary fix, and I can do the oil and filter myself.

Getting rid of the dashboard service reminder

Both viable options; thanks. Yeah, of all the YouTube tips that seems to be the one. It's not the end of the world, it's just a bit like being told off every time I get in the damn van.

Getting rid of the dashboard service reminder

Hi there. I've seen various tricks on YouTube for getting rid of the 'XXX days since last service' or whatever it is message on the dash - mostly involving ignition phases and pressing the little buttons on the dash screen. But I haven't tried any of them for fear of fire, explosions, ninjas or...
