I saved this car from London where it had been sat on the street for 3 years getting very little use (c.500 miles a year) after the owner fell ill, with the intention of using it as a stop gap until my newly ordered BMW is delivered. Why get something new and boring when cars like this are...
Do you know if they are the same pins on my 300? (i.e. the two middle ones)
I've done a bit of digging but cant find anything specific.
Also, reading their woes it would seem it cut out and wouldn't start at all. Mine starts and then fails after a few seconds. hmmmm
Morning all. Have a new toy to tinker with! I dragged a 1989 300SE out of a London garage on thursday from where it had been sat for 3 years. It Flew through its MOT with no advisories even!
When I picked up the car, the seller mentioned that if it ever failed to start then remove the fuel...
Bump and a price drop back down to £5500. Super charger pulley now replaced, Idler pulley repalced, 'A service' completed, new front pads and a brake fluid change.
Car had new tyres all round in December, all the rust cut out of the rear arches and the front wings were replaced for rust free...
out of interest how are you checking the intake temps?
Mine had a new IC pump not that long ago so I'm sure its working.. but i'd be interested to hear!
How have you found the car? I looked at that one before buying mine. The seller seemed a bit off. Messages were quite blunt, not particularly well written and made me avoid the car.
Looks nice now though! Only thing I'd change is the front grille. Maybe a standard one with out the star?
is there anyway to find a more specific break down of build numbers? I'd be interested to find out how many black estate C32's there are for instance.
I remember when I had my E36 M3 people would quote how many of each colour were made etc.
For a bit of closure. Was at the garage yesterday. Diagnosed as either water pump or thermostat. Car had a water pump last year so booked in for a thermostat later today. Thank god, a nice cheap fix!
Having a similar issue with the GF's new Polo. Its 2 weeks old and every time you get in the car without fail the windows are all steamed up. Ok it clears in less than a few minutes but annoying all the same. My 13 year old C class doesnt do it!!
Not sure if this is engine or interior tbh but bit of an issue as its -5 this morning!
Car is a 2003 C32.
I have always thought that the heating has been poor on the car but never really worried. This cold snap has proved that its barely working at all. At best all I get is luke warm air...
Morning guys,
Not sure I really want to do this but I'm considering parting company with my '03 C32. C32's are rare at the best of times but to find one that's black and an estate is doubly so.
Wondered if anybody would be in the market for something quick and practical, 350hp and load...
