My central locking has begun playing up, it may just be another electrical gremlin to contend with or they may be an easy solution someone has encountered before ... so here goes.
The keyfob operates the alarm as normal so it's transmitting ok, but it won't open the doors. I can set the alarm...
I can't find any damp patches in the car apart from the driver's mat where I was depositing snow last week - I'll put it on a radiator today to make sure it's dry through.
The engine heats up normally, just a little slow in these conditions, so there's a good 10 minute delay before heat gets...
Went out to scrape the car this morning only to find ice on the inside of the windscreen as well as the outside. The carpets are dry front and back and there's no dampness in the boot, what could be causing this amount of condensation to be settling inside ?
Because I'm trying to defrost the car...
G'morning,
Ominous rattle from under my car this morning, have a nasty suspicion it's the baffles or liners in the cats. I seem to remember that you have to replace both sides as it's hard to identify which one the rattle is coming from ?
So where can I get a pair of replacements at a...
I'll be there from Midday, but not in the Merc. It's a great show that attracts a lot of visitors as well as in excess of 1800 old and new classics.
I'll be with a group of Marcos owners showing off my latest relationship testing, mid-life crisis, impulse buy ...... :D:D:D
Yep, about 20mins ago .... along with my house keys ..... parents now on thier way to pick me up from work and let me into my own house - just hope I can find the spare key I haven't seen for 2 years .....
Bugger
My S430 had bodywork rust repairs to the tune of £4500 carried out in September 2007 under MB warranty. Unfortunately the garage who performed the repairs didn't do a particularly good job and by December 2008 there was more rust showing in the places they claim to have repaired ...
I finally managed to remove a small piece of cardboard/paper from the hinge of the centre console storage compartment of my S-class. I've had the car for a couple of years now and had noticed this previously, but hadn't mustered the enthusiasm to get a pair of long nose pliers to remove it...
G'afternoon
Recently had some work done to my S430 that required the removal of one rear door. The garage refitted the door but didn't have the correct issue software to reset the main CPU (to let it know the door has been put back on !) so I'm getting an SRS airbag warning and the soft close...
G'morning,
The car's an S430.
As per the title really, can't remember the last time I revved the car in neutral, but I've just tried it and it goes quite lumpy at 4000RPM almost like a crude rev limiter, and won't rev past 4500.
Took the car for a sprint up the road and back and it's fine...
I'm thinking the same ... it's going to cost me £250 to refurbish the alloys and £350 for tyres, £600 in total. I can get a nice new set of alloys with tyres for £700 !
These guys get you to input the car type so you can see what the alloys will look like on your car (well, apart from the...
Ok, a small dilemma for you to ponder.
I have a W220 S-class with a gearbox fault, it’s not a terminal fault and the car is drivable, the best way I can describe it is that the gearbox seems unable to choose what gear to select as you approach junctions or roundabouts. It seems to change out...
It all happened so quick (phone call 1.30pm Thursday, car with them by 7.20 the next morning) that I didn't even think about photos ! There were small rust bubbles in two places on one front wing, about the size of a one penny piece in total, and the bottom of the drivers door had the corner...
Shortly after purchasing my S-class back in October I went to my local dealership to purchase a locking wheel nut remover. While the guy was trying out the various combinations he noticed a small bubble of rust on my front wheel arch and said I should speak to the body shop guy regarding a...
Wooo hoo
Just took a call from MB in Stevenage asking if I wanted all the rust sorted on my S-class before the goodwill warranty period runs out.
Let me think about this for a minute ..... YES !
