BD, I bought new in Oct 1998, I think the cost was £42K, but it is was fully optioned so £34K base seems right. So in today's money that is £54K. The 2019 GLE 450 with most of the options but lots of tech. is about £68K The extra £14k over 1998 seems well worth it.

Markjay, Thanks. The over reliance on the auto tyre pressure indicator is the one I suspect "possibly inflation pressures at the lower part of the permitted range". I check my ML tyres manually every 2 weeks and get good mileage out of the tyres – 1998 was a low-tech era. Regards John

I am trying to locate a housing for a left hand side mirror (without the indicator). Parked the car where I thought it was safe when it was snowing and a van skidded and wacked it. I have attached a photo. Also would this mirror be easy to fit DIY?
