Optimal are German and have TÜV SÜD certification. Apparently that's a 'thing'.

Thanks. Had a look. Their postage makes them pretty much the same price as my local eurocarparts, albeit the eurocarparts item is Optimal and not Lemforder but it'll do just fine and I can get them tomorrow. I'm replacing both sides.

Hi all This ball joint need replaced. Obviously it's a lower ball joint but is it an inner or an outer?

A local independent Mercedes garage has quoted £240 for a full gearbox oil/filter change including flush and torque converter drain. They have a good reputation locally. Does that sound fair?

Folks My W204 (2008) C200 CDi now has 86k on it. I usually use an independent mechanic and I was wondering what items are needed for a service. The service reminder is saying a B service is now due. Obviously an oil and oil filter change is needed but what other important engine-related parts...

On second thoughts.....maybe it's unwise to start a thread about tyres because I'm quite sure someone will have beaten me to it............about 1000 times!

I always buy cheap ones. They have never let me down (so far) and I don't see the need to spend hundreds on tyres when I can get them much cheaper. For example........today I got 2 new 225/55x16 tyres fitted and balanced along with a puncture repaired in one of my other good tyres. Pleasant...
