Dipped beam warning message, I've changed to new bulb and worked but then went out. Changed back to original bulb, worked and then went out again. Now thinking electrical connection problem...... any pointers please as to where to look/verify for this connection problem to drivers side headlight ?

yes, I agree. No excuse on my part, should have ignored the breakdown guy (breakdown was due to battery fault, he said. My ignorance :(
