Brilliant! Please could you attach a link to the switch you bought, or is it simple a case of searching on the code you have kindly listed? Sounds like an ideal fix.
Well done!
Interesting re: the stalk, I’ll try my local Merc Indy in Nottingham first but if no joy I’m willing to give Mertrux a go.
I just got a quote back for an aftermarket set up but it’s very nearly £600! But they want to fit it. There’s also a place in Castle Donnington that does a self install kit...
Thanks, that’s super helpful! So just to be clear, as far as you know the converter did the coding and prior to that no one had actually tried it with a star machine?
Well this is a bit like pulling teeth 😬. But at least it’s getting our message count up so we’ll soon be able to PM 😀. I’m no clearer on how to progress at this point so let me summarise. Oh and I already have a stalk and would probably just cut a slot in my existing cowl, but thanks for the...
Yes 3.5 V6 petrol from Japan. So you say you had to buy the full kit from Mercedes? What does it comprise of? I thought you’d just need the stalk and some coding. What else is missing compared to European spec ones?
Any idea what the make of the conversion kit was? Could you also let me know the name of the camper converter please as that is the route I’m going too. I’m really happy with the basic vehicle, it’s a great drive so I’m will ing to invest a bit of money into it now. Thanks
Any update on your cruise control coding? I’m in exactly the same position, I have the stalk and worked out where/how to fit it but want to confirm it can be coded before I go ahead. I briefly had a star machine but it wouldn’t link ip with the module that needs to be coded (can’t remember which...
So I tried the possible solution that m80 came up (but subsequently rejected as it was thought it would cause other issues) in order to see what the downside would be. I snipped the wires coming from pads 3 & 4 on the door pillar, then I connected together the stubs coming from the pads. Next I...
It seems to me
that the simplest solution (other than fitting a new lock mechanism at £265) would be to fit an additional switch in the door pillar that the door contacts with on closure. It would need to be one that breaks the circuit when the door is open and makes the circuit when door is...
Did you find a solution to this other than replacing the lock mechanism? I have the same problem intermittently and don’t really want to spend big bucks on the solution. Tx
