My GLC was parked for the night on my driveway having been working all as normal. The following morning there were multiple messages displayed
relating to ABS, Cruise control, Limiter with engine warning light (Yellow). I booked into my local indy garage who identified the issue as rodent...
Can anyone tell me the safe depth of flood water a GLC can go through without ruining the engine.
The internet says 300mm but surely the air intake is not that low,
Thanks , I had fitted a new battery about two weeks before the fault appeared but I have now fitted a second new battery and everything is working ok. The first batter must have been faulty.
The software in the car can be checked to see how much charge has been input or even just apply tax to the number of miles covered. There is no way the government are going to lose out on all the fuel duty they are currently getting when and if EVs become the high volume road users.
I booked my car into the main dealer and they said that the two gas struts had to be replaced, fortunately I still had a used car warranty. The new struts have cured the problem. Good luck with yours.
Don't worry there will soon be EV charging tarrifs from the power companies, they will be priced to replace the
revenue from fuel duty. Metered separately from domestic rate. Suppliers are already asking if you have or intend to have an EV. They are cheap to run for now but for how much longer.
I've just encountered a strange issue with my GLC's boot opening and closing.
The boot will open and then immediately close.
I've tried opening it via the door, boot lid and key and in all instances, the boot will immediately close after two beeps.
Has anyone came across this before and if so...
Can anyone please tell me is the 17 inch skinny spare that I bought for my c200 will fit onto a GLA with 18 inch wheels as an emergency spare.
Ideally it will fit and save me getting another one.
By way of an update I ended up buying a GLC220d, the available diesel cars were better spec and the 50+ mpg swayed me.
I hope I have made the right choice.
Thanks for the feedback, I dont think I will be doing too high milage as I intend to retire soon, maybe 4-5k per year. I wont do a lot of city driving so petrol would be ok if I can get high 30s mpg. I have a bit of fear with what is going to happen with diesel as the greens seem to be dictating...
I'm looking to buy a GLC but undecided on which model ( amg, urban, sport) , I;m also veering towards petrol but would like some advice from owners or previous owners on here.

I saw a couple advertised on autotrader and though they looked well spec'd , reasonable mileage and ok price.
I am glad I came onto the forum for advice, I will go diesel or petrol now. Thanks for your advice.
I had a nearside mirror cover clipped in the supermarket on my dark blue 2010 C200 Estate, the mirror cover looked broken so I bought one from Mercedes.
I then discovered that the existing one has merely unclipped so I now have a spare for a car I no longer have. If anyone wants it they can have...
I have just noticed the same issue on my C200 EQ , it stays on after even short journeys. I take it there is some sort of sensor
for engine temp causing this.
I bought a C200EQ 1.5 2019 saloon last year for my wife, she loves it . It is very nippy , good on fuel and I even got a £10 road tax rebate as DVLA now class it as a hybrid. I would have no hesitation buying another one.
Good luck whatever you choose.
I use country tracks quite a bit and would like additional high beam lights and if possible a nudge bar. Has anyone fitted these or can advise me where I can get them
also what issues there may be.
Thanks
