My 2001 X reg Mercedes C-Class C200 Kompresser Avantgarde Automatic is unexpectantly up for sale due to an offer of another car that I can't refuse from within the family. I also bought this from my brother 6 years ago who had owned it from new. It therefore has had only 2 owners and I know its...

Then compare silver metal crimping on your radiator to identify if you have a Behr or Valeo. Look carefully with a torch under the bonnet, the...
I have since looked into buying a secondhand replacement supercharger but only 3 month guarantee at best and will it be any better than mine in long term........a new kompressor from MB is £1155 inc vat plus fitting. Supercharger life is estimated at 100-125k miles on average it seems.
Also...
OK, thanks, now done that. It seems to be a steady clatter/rumble from the Supercharger area louder when hot. Clearly heard when resting screwdriver on the alloy castings but not loud enough to hear inside the car.
When you rev the car lightly there is a loud rasping type noise which I had not...
2000 X Reg C200K Petrol W203 110,000 miles
I have noticed when the engine is at running temperature a rattlely/tappet type of noise from the LH side - supercharger side of engine, I can only hear it outside the car or with the bonnet open.............my local independent garage say they need to...
Thanks everyone for your help & pics, fitted the new parts as advised but proved to be much easier with someone seating in the seat to hold the base down firmly while I pushed home the plastic clamp and rivets from below.
The leather seat base cushion on my 2001 W203 C200K is loose and rocking up and down on one side of the drivers seat.
I found the remains of a broken black plastic bracket (on the floor underneath) which clamps over a round metal bar under the front of the seat base cushion. Also 2 unbroken...
Doesn't work that way here.....Reports on the BBC this morning and in the press indicated an increasing number of British registered cars (even RHD) are being fitted with cloned/stolen foreign plates to avoid APNR cameras and allow tax, insurance and speed camera evasion as there is no standard...
OK but at what point do we say enough is enough? Is it a case of most of us agreeing something needs to be done as long as it doesn't affect us personally during our lifetime?
I don't support Ken's politics in many other areas but I do think he is the only politician who has actually been brave...
So far nearly everyone has said this is nothing to do with the environment, just yet another tax but as always nobody has really offered any practical alternatives which will make any major difference to motorists behavior in the near future without making us pay!!! I guess the truth we don't...

Assuming most agree the planet has a problem, how exactly do we make people including "ourselves" change their lifestyles, the type of cars they buy, the number of flights they take, etc without hitting them in the pocket or changing laws, like Ken has in London and I believe the Germans have...
Crossed the Millau Bridge (British designed I think?) twice a couple of years ago on the way to Spain and back. Also stopped overnight in the nearby town of Millau as it was about the half way point of the journey and viewed the bridge early next morning from the official viewing area they have...
BCA have started fitting LCD screens each side of the auctioneers rostrum so even if you can't understand what he is saying, you can see the car on sales spec and history and the current bidding price as it goes up...........much easier for the private buyers with untrained ears to keep track...
BCA have a website with useful info and lots of sites around the country. Blackbushe J4 M3 is my local one, well worth going to a few auctions to see how it all works before buying anything.
