Actual grit paper of different grades up to the finest coarseness available.

Get it all done from someone who can repair the dent and do the respray at the same time. It’ll save you time, hassle and money.
As above I wouldn’t recommend the self restore (chipex) if you’re getting the dent removed anyway and if it’s big enough for you to worry about. Those kits are decent...
Chips away or auto restore can localise the area.
How bad is it? Post a pic. If it’s not that bad just live with it as it’s bound to happen again unfortunately.
