Firstly thanks for your replies.
It's the foot brake. I noticed that there is a vibration coming from the pedal when I release it for about 2/3 seconds as well as being able to hear the buzz caused from the vibration.
And I will get them changed soon, thanks.
When I got my car serviced, the mechanic said my brake discs were lipped, but I took my car for an MOT and even though it failed (but took it back today to get fix and retested), there was no advisory or anything about the brakes - not sure if it's just because there was no need to be...
My 2000 Mercedes A140 petrol seems to have started to be a bit nasty on the petrol side (ie. it's eating more than usual), so I thought I'd give it a single treatment of redex.
Can anyone tell me which one I need, the Redex Petrol Cleaner or Petrol Injection cleaner?
I have a 2000 Mercedes A140 Manual Classic, and whenever I steer the steering wheel, there's a very slight play with a clicking noise that sounds like it's coming from the connection between the steering wheel and steering components. It's just clicks once during the first cm of steering...
Many thanks for the information.
I never knew this hehe. I always hated being in traffic and leaving the clutch down when stopped so I had this habbit where I would always just go into neutral (pretty much coasting) then just selecting 1st when I needed to move.
At least now I know I can use...
I'm just wondering, can pressing your clutch all the way in burn your clutch or wear it out? Only my friend told me that holding it at the bite for a long time burns the clutch, but putting the clutch all the way in doesn't. I always thought it was putting the clutch all the way down for...
Firstly folks many thanks for your replies.
I have noticed that my petrol engine sounds like a diesel and thought it was normal, however my friend has told me that it sounds as if the fan belt is ticking.
Just wondering, could this be the problem why it squeeks as well?
I suspect the garage I...
Just had my car serviced and a few things came up and I'm struggling to understand fully what they mean:
All tyre tread are 5mm / 5.5mm
- Both rear tyres perishing on outside wall
- N/S/F tyre worn on outer edge...
Thanks for your reply. This is why I thought them saying it was the clutch was not correct.
Just before I go out I'll give the engine a bit of a shake and see if any noise comes out.
Thanks, will let you know shortly.
I have a 2000 Mercedes A140 Classic and I've noticed that on my dash there is an outline of a man in a seat and a seatbelt which has never ever lit up. Just wondering, why has this never lit up before and what is it? I can only presume it's a warning light for someone not wearing a seatbelt...
Does anyone know what could be causing this on my 2000 Mercedes A140 Manual?
Whenever I turn the engine off, most of the time I get a really quick squeek that lasts for about 1 second, so it's very quick but quite loud.
I took it to a garage and they told me it's the clutch that is going...
Recently, I've seen sidelights (the very small bulbs) of cars being completely blue. Just wondered, is this legal? I've always thought they were only allowed to be white or have a slight tint of blue.
Just wondered, how much roughly would it cost to get a local garage to fit a reverse parking sensor on a 2000 Mercedes-Benz A140 Classic?
I am considering purchasing this one: CAR REVERSE PARKING 4 SENSOR KIT& BUZZER ALARM UK LOCAL | eBay
Thanks folks. I noticed that (because I'm currently on holiday in the Philippines) they use air recirc all the time due to the heavy pollution. Just wondering, will this have the same effect as using it in the UK or does the air recirc work slightly differently to allow it to be on all the time...
