So whatever happens, the motor just keeps turning and it snaps the cog off.
Does anyone know if its a faulty motor or something to do with the car? I'm worried that if I buy a new unit, the car will just tell the motor to keep turning, and that will snap the cog again.
Any thoughts/ideas welcome.
Well it isn't going very well. Ive glued the star shaped cog back in place but it isn't aligned with where the little arm needs to sit.
I need to play around while the power is on I think.
Bugger! Not to worry.
The exact same thing happens to me, the motor just keeps turning. I reckon...
I'm back in the Merc fold after many years away driving other marques!
Start the car and I can hear a constant buzzing from CD Multi changer behind the panel. Panel won't open. CDs play as expected (previous owner left three cds in).
Ive replaced the whole unit with a second hand one...
I'm here, safe and sound. Just trying to get used to the time difference, hence why I'm up in the middle of the night!!!
Temperature is lovely.....breakfast tomorrow by the pool....Yippeee.
Thanks for everyone's well wishes.
Hi Guys and Girls,
I just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone for their help and guidance, before I leave tomorrow for a sunnier climate. I've not been around that much but I've enjoyed my time on this excellent forum!!
I didn't manage to sell the CLK, so she'll remain in the garage...
Just a quick one to let you know we didn't end up buying the one I've listed above, but we did find a 1990, 300TD with all the top specs with 160km on the clock for £3k. Seems expensive for the age of the car...but I think it's worth paying a bit more for a better model.
Car seems solid...
That's interesting....certainly not the quote I got. Cheers for the info though.
At this current depreciation rate the car loses £800 a month - but it still costs less to run than my Wife's debit card.;)
All good points and well made.
I understand completely that Mb are trying to make a profit, but why do they insist on making a killing both ways. For an extra £2k I wouldn't have quibbled and would be selecting my next motor ready for my return as we speak. Although I haven't gone off the...
I was made an offer by MB today to buy my car from me.
It was inevitable that I was not going to get a good price, but to be honest it still feels mildly insulting. Guess I should have seen it coming.
I bought the car in Jun 05 for £42000
Nine months later I need to sell and they have...
Sorry to keep bumping this to the top but I've had some development.
The stealers (God bless them) have offered me £31,000 to take the car off my hands.
The first person to make me a better offer gets a lovely car for a very cheap (trade) price.
This offer will only remain open for two...
