    Energy Suppliers

We pay around £70 a month, on a four bed detached house, both work from home, including charging our two electric cars, so all driving mileage included in this figure (maybe 16k milesm/pa) across both cars (don't public charge much at all). This is with Octopus Go. I've got a referral code if...

Has anyone here gone (second hand) EV?

Not quite true, there are high voltage trained independent garages out there, happy to top up your washer fluid and change brake fluid when you need it done. After 5 years on the market I don't think there are lots of things that need sorting at servicing /maintenance. Every other year servicing...

Has anyone here gone (second hand) EV?

Yes, that appears to be the gist! Drove home the other day in a spirited fashion, about 100 miles,in my i3. When I parked I touched my brake discs, they were cold! And my 2013 w204 c250, though fully maintained, had the MB petrol engine with the potential timing chain issues?! And the i3 is...

Has anyone here gone (second hand) EV?

They are unique, but black circles etc do them. Not cheap, but they can last well, just depends if you use all the acceleration all the time! :-) Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk

Has anyone here gone (second hand) EV?

We've just gone ev, sold my much loved c250cgi, for a bmw i3. 2 years old, with 6 years, or 90k miles of manufacturerers warranty on the battery remaining. Batteries don't drop off a cliff, they degrade slowly, but bmw are known for very good battery management systems. This i3 is actually our...

Just joined and Looking to buy W204 C Class

Hi Markjay, I have a late (August 2013) c250 cgi which is obviously newer than you mention. Low mileage (20k) and full MB service history. What's your understanding (or opinion) of whether my engine is at risk of the timing gear failure? Or was it finally resolved by MB by then? Sent from my...

Warranty worth its weight!? Air Con fail

Had the evaporator fail just out of warranty on an approved used 2011 c180. Cost to repair was quoted at over £1500 (dash out job), so after a bit of to and fro with MB UK, offered modest goodwill contribution. After a letter to the CEO in the UK, had the full cost covered... Good customer...

    A/C not working???

I had this on my previous c180 (2011), face-lift. After much investigation it turned out to be the evaporator, the worst possible diagnosis (dash out job) and a £1400 bill. It was just out of approved used warranty. I went through MB UK and wasn't satisfied with the goodwill offer they made me...

    Mpg c250 cgi thoughts

Just as an update - I had my car in to the dealer for the airbag recall a few weeks ago, and raised the issue of the longer cranking, as the car is still within the approved used warranty period. Turns out the fuel pump was faulty, which they have just replaced under warranty today. Only fired...

    Mpg c250 cgi thoughts

Thanks, it does. As there don't appear to be many of the c250 about in the UK, there's not much user info out there. Your figures tally with mine, after a few weeks of ownership. Cheers. As an aside, I'm finding it cranks a bit longer on startup before firing - is that familiar or just mine...

    Mpg c250 cgi thoughts

Yes good point! In the manual I would get anything between 35 and 40 on a run, whereas in the c250 auto it seems to be between 30 and 35. They have the same combined mpg, officially! I guess it's the auto box and the extra hp. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

    Mpg c250 cgi thoughts

Coming from a C180 s204 manual face-lift to a c250 cgi s204 auto (2 years younger), I'm enjoying the extra power and the 7 speed gearbox. Just wondering if the 6 or 7 mpg less I'm getting is to be expected (was averaging 36.5 in the manual, now about 32, mixed drives). I'm guessing so, but...

    Comand telephone ring too quiet

I'll try. The ring volume is pretty high for out of car use. Can't believe I'll have to turn it up every time I get in the car?! Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

    Comand telephone ring too quiet

When I dial out through Comand via my Bluetooth linked phone (Google pixel), in my S204 c class, the sound of the ring before people pick up is very quiet. As soon as they pick up, the volume of the voice call is fine. Anyone know why or how to solve? I've tried turning the volume knob or using...

    Impressed with Mercedes customer care..

I had a 100% goodwill evaporator repair done by Mercedes in Cheltenham (job was going to cost over a grand!),on an out of warranty c180. They couldn't have been better, lent me an e350 coupe for the 5 days they had it (over a weekend). Highly recommend that experience! Sent from my Pixel using...

    W204 C180 Knocking noise?

thanks, I guess it may be on of these - I wonder whether it's the ball joint as suggested in the last article you link to - that suggests the sort of knocking sound I think I'm getting. I guess I better get someone to look at it!
