    Paul from eurocharge Watford

I saw his name on the thread and wondered if there might be positive updates after all these years, so thought I'd drop in and sub for updates. And of course...pass on a little respect for a good guy. I had a bit of a wobble with him when he had my car as it was taking forever, but at the time...

W124 facelift wiper assy....how do I get it off??

So....I got it all apart and had a hell of a 'fun' time in doing so. It was nowhere near as bad inside on both ends of the wiper unit as what I'd seen on the interweb. Nevertheless....I thoroughly cleaned out the assembly and aaaaabbbbbsolutely loaded it with lithium grease (lol which of course...

    W124 heater fan cooking fuses

SO....a few weeks back, my W124 decided to melt the fuse for the heater fan and bring paint to my life. I replaced the fuse and idled the car for a few minutes...seemed fine, so I forgot about it. I went back to the car later that same evening, fired up the motor but the fan wasn't working. A...

W124 facelift wiper assy....how do I get it off??

Ok so....I unbolted the whole wiper assembly and had a good look underneath. There's a 17mm nut directly under the clam and then a 13mm nut nearer to the motor. Un-doing either of these does nowt. Do I need to use a puller or something to get the wipery-frame off it? I tried some firm prying...

W124 facelift wiper assy....how do I get it off??

Thanks gents, very helpful. I'll bet that mine has those two screws underneath that need to be undone....today should be fun :wallbash: Happy to take it all apart though and do a thorough job if at all possible. Might as well, seeing as it'll all be apart.

    Almost fully restored W124 cab....and I can't be bothered anymore :(

Ahhhh, I just figured that the ABS light might also have been because of the sensors needing a clean, which I'll need to get around to. If that doesn't help the issue, then sure, I'll just buy a new OVP. I'll add it to my huge list of parts that been replaced on this car, hehe...

    Almost fully restored W124 cab....and I can't be bothered anymore :(

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. I re-tinned all of the joints using my magnifying glass for the hell of it, seeing as I went to the trouble of getting it out of it's casing.

W124 facelift wiper assy....how do I get it off??

I've been following the guide on Pelican Parts: Mercedes-Benz W124 Mono-Post Wiper Repair and Replacement | 1986-1995 E-Class | Pelican Parts DIY Maintenance Article But I'm stuck with the top cover now...any ideas or tips? I've managed to get the wiper arm part off aaaand now at a roadblock...

    W124 lower cladding paint code

Hi guys, Reading this thread, it seems like there's a second paint code for the matt/non-glossy panels of the W124: Correct paint/lacquer 124 bumpers Also a lot of the internal links in that thread ^ point to the mbcluck URLs before the 'forums' sub-domain was set up and as a result, they...

    Almost fully restored W124 cab....and I can't be bothered anymore :(

Thanks for the comments guys. Some interested points made by all, but funnily enough the two which have stuck with me, seem to be "Like Ex-Wives/girlfriends, you've fallen out of love with it and there's no going back." and "I wish I still had the car but don’t miss it if that makes any sense"...

    Almost fully restored W124 cab....and I can't be bothered anymore :(

Hey guys, I don't post often here and when I do, it's normally to post something about my A124. I'm at a bit of a cross roads and was thinking it might be an idea to ask the MB collective over here for their thoughts. In short: I bought a shed of an E230 124 cab back in 2016 thinking it would...

    W124 Cabriolet Interior - mould!

my otherwise pristine W124 cabrio has a delightful case of mould on the interior and I don't think it can be killed off....I need to replace. Are there any reasonably priced interior specialists around London that might be able to make me a new carpet and leather seats? The alternative is of...

W124 with fouling front ball joints

Hey guys, So, clever clogs that I am...I've managed to order the wrong front lower control arms for my E320 and needless to say, the brake discs are being fouled a little upon full steering lock. I think the brakes I have are 300mm x 26mm I'm thinking the easiest solution is to get slightly...

    Billy's W124 Coupe Project

I just read this thread again (and saw my own comment above, which I'd forgotten about, haha) and yeah - this is just about the most incredible, thorough restoration of a car that didn't really need it, that I've ever seen. I hope you keep this car forever... I also wish that I'd documented my...
