No offence Pringles, but I don't agree that silver looks good on a W214. It somehow in my opinion cheapens the look of the car. An estate 124 in silver from a distance looks almost like the old Volvo V70.
I personally think the darker the colour on a 124 the better, all except black due to...
Lovely, she's a beauty! I like the colour, let's wait and see if my brother likes it!?
The condition of the paint work is great, no swirls. Is it the original paint? How do you keep it looking so good?
Powder coating the rocker cover seems to be quite expensive and time consuming. So is there an easier option of sanding and then spraying the cover? Is there a special paint to be used, which is also DIY friendly?
Can anyone recommend a good product, to clean the engine and make it shine but...
Yeah thanks for bringing that up pammy, I forgot to mention that. I left mine for 8ish hours and have had no probs. I would advise to use good quality sticky pads, 3M's the best, which I only just realised that www.taxdischolder.com provide 3M pads with each sale. So I suppose you wouldn't need...
Anyone with a W124 will know that the boot has two lovely deep pockets on either side to store all your goodies in. Mine consists of engine oil, WD40 can, maps, rain mac (incase I get a puncture when it's raining!) and lots of other bits and bobs; oh! yeah and the kitchen sink, naturally...
The tax holders from Richbrook are brilliant. It's been on my car since I last updated the tax and it hasn't fallen off or lost it's stickiness, even when faced with extreme heat/cold.
I beleive the tax holders themselves are the same quality but the sticky pads aren't, so why not just...
Sp!ke do you know of any breakers yards in London, especially S/SW London?
Or does anyone else know a good breakers that they have used in and around London, Does anyone know a breaker who regularly has MB's in stock???
The last time I had to renew my tax disc, I also fitted a new tax holder. On Wednesday I have to renew it again. Problem is that I fitted one of those metal ones (see pic below) where you need a hexagon/allen key to open it, but I've lost it. Does any one know where I can get a...
What would be the ideal size of alloy wheels for a W124. Which size would compliment this model and not look to boy racerish, but add some class to the car??
Which would be the best style of alloys aswell, Avant Garde, AMG A Line??????
I'll probably get some covers from a breakers yard.
Are the padding bits to create the shape of the seatcovers fitted seperately or detachable. So if I buy new style covers, then can i fit new style padding, or do i have to replace the seat itself???
The seat covers in my W124 are the original ones with the padded vertical stripes. Is this padding fitted to the seat itself or the covers?
If I want to fit leather covers with horizontal padded stripes (like in the pic below) then would I have to replace the padding on my seat or do...
Hi, found this pic of a pre-facelift W124 (below) in Google images. It has this really odd antenna thingy fitted to the bumper area, with the MB star on top!
Does anyone know what it is???
Whatever it is, it looks really naff!!
What exactly is powder coating?
Is it expensive?
Where can I get it done?
BY THE WAY
The pic of the engine is not mine (but very similar), I found the pic in one of the other threads. Sorry whoever this pic really belongs to but it's helped to explain where exactly I have to clean...
What exactly is 'reglazing'? Does anyone know, and exactly how the process is carried out?
Will it be a permanant solution to remove the swirls or will my brother have to keep on maintaining it with extra care? (Rediculous amounts of polsih/wax and very regularly??!).
Once the car has...
