Last November I fitted an electricity meter in the feed to the charger, with the aim of finding-out the real-world effective MPG with charging factored-in. Because of the lockdowns I haven't done much driving since then but the car's about to go to M-B so I thought I'd do the sums in case they...

Thanks for the link. I've been tempted by the icarsoft code reader for a while but haven't taken the plunge. I've poked at everything that looks like it might be relevant but have relented and booked the car into an M-B dealer (and warned the bank manager!)

I'd be interested to know which device you've ordered and how it works with Android Auto

I've started the car (2017 C350E sport estate) a few times today and, each time, got the following error message: "collision prevention assist plus inoperative". I'd be grateful if someone could tell me what sensors the system uses and where they are hidden. I've sprayed the front of the car...

Ref my question on 27/Dec, is everyone else finding the app working fine for pre-heat?

Is anyone else finding problems with pre-entry climate control since the Mercedes app updates? Many times I start the app, click "start now" on the pre-entry climate control and get an "important note" message saying that it may not have been possible to transfer the request ... blah blah", and...

Back in September it occurred to me that, in order to estimate the real-world cost/mile and compare it to a typical non-hybrid, it would be useful to have an accurate record of the charging cost. I only charge at home so I bought a cheap electricity meter but then forgot about it :-( I found the...

I agree, fuel is only part of the equation but on multiple shorter journeys the EV/ICE mix is more relevant than on longer journeys. You've made me realise that I was considering the entire battery capacity in my sums, rather than the usable bit., but I over-estimated the range so it's roughly...

Running cost of PHEV compared to petrol. I'm trying to decide whether to replace my C350e with another PHEV or a conventional petrol-engined car (in my area pure EV is not viable). Clearly the fuel cost is part of this, but it's very complex (impossible?) to do any valid sums on it because, as...

Hmmm, EQC: "from £64,925", "249 miles range" (on a good or very good day, perhaps) and 11 hours to fully charge ... not a combination that will win me over.

Home charging isn't a problem. Being able to tow would be useful, as would a bit more luggage space. The lack of rural charge points seems to be a very good reason to rule-out an EV until the charged range and recharge time get closer to a petrol car., which probably means a fuel cell. Until...

What to replace a C350e estate with? My car will soon be 3 1/2 years old and, apart from a suspension pump failure it's been totally reliable ... but I'm starting to wonder "what next?". I like the performance and comfort of the 350e but would prefer a bit more luggage space and a bit more...

Well, the Saab 9-5 Aero estate that I had before the C350e was far and away the best car I've owned, but the fuel consumption and road tax were painful. A short time ago I mentioned an intermittent suspension issue "stop driving, car too low" ... it happened again this week so I got M-B to...

My car has done about 400 miles since it's suspension hiccup and there has been no recurrence, so (hopefully) it was caused by a bad contact, water or an electron getting lost in some other way.

It's a strange interface but the timed control has worked 2 times out of the 3 I've tried using it. I can't get an instant "set" to work. (BTW, the suspension glitch hasn't happened again - but a long journey today so fingers crossed).

Had a worrying hiccup last night (especially as the car has just passed its 3rd birthday). Suddenly the car flashed-up "Stop Driving, car too low" and it felt like the suspension was on the bottom stops. I switched off/on and it was OK for the rest of the journey but I started to wonder whether...

I just had the "7 Mercedes me connect services have expired" email and have renewed 2 of the 3 sets at the cost of £78.33+VAT. Very surprising that a manufacturer of "not cheap" cars would do this to their customers for such a small amount of money. My feeling about MB would be so much more...

The car has always had OAT on the mileage page, but the contrast of the OAT area is poor and it's not the page that a driver would have displayed as default. I'd expected that any modern car would warn me if the temperature got into the freezing range; very surprised and disappointed that MB...
