Just wondered if anybody could suggest the best quality pattern parts of full sills for a W124 4 door saloon?
I have the dreaded jacking point Grot and although you can get plates for these from Germany by the time you have bought 4 and payed shipping it runs expensive :(
We all know pattern...
I know many sing the praises of Raysons Radiators in Yeovil so I ordered a Genuine Behr Replacement as I was told "all" new ones have reinforced necks......................
My Replacement Genuine Behr turned up today after a long wait only to find neither of the necks are reinforced!
25mm sounds right but the nearest pipe is 22mm :(
Though I am not sure if this is internal or external diameter?
I will probably end up replacing it anyhow but just want to help it get to my friends around 90 miles away who can help me replace it ;)
Guessing so grober ;)
I know some in the states have done this but they mention 1" Pipe Nearest we have is 22mm but not sure if 22mm is inside or outside diameter?
1inch = about 25mm if 22mm is inside diameter I guess outside could be 25mm?
28mm would be too big
Ever since I got my car I have had a slow coolant leak. I Have had the engine sniff tested and compression tested and they come back as fine :thumb:
I have just found the leak after all this time and its seeping ever so slowly from the end of the top hose.
I suspect underneath the hose the...
Thanks for all the help guys, the pipes were on the wrong way around!
Underneath I have a very honest car but the previous owner was the sort that needs adult supervision with a tool box!
While I had the lover dash out because if his bodgery I took clear pics of everything attached so I could...
If it uses the same colour throughout the Purple/Yellow is at the lights meaning I have them the wrong way around.............
I only replaced them as they were but the cars previous owner was a bit of a bodger :(
Ive also has the economy meter vacuum off didn't realise it was joined to the...
I only have two connectors?
So does that mean my vacuum tubes should be the other way around?
I know some versions have external air tanks so I guess why three lines?
Mine only has two Purple Yellow top Purple bottom just wondering if they are indeed the wrong way around?
I am finally getting on track with my car and after curing a few issue i noticed a hissing sound coming from the dash :dk:
Turned out it was coming from the headlight adjuster.
Now i have had this dash apart a few times but so had somebody before me
I have had those lines off and put...
After months of my 230e playing up not charging the battery I have finally found out why
I want to repair this myself but need a little advice and a list of things I need?
In short it's my alternator lead, the exciter wire has a break in it causing an open circuit it literally makes or...
Yup checked all those and now replaced all the fuses with Brass fuses ;)
Currently have the cluster out and I have checked the input to the warning lamps which is pin 8 of the large 15 pin connector but the output pin 9 is connected to pin 12 of the N7 relay which I cant budge at the mo!!
The problem I have is a Charging issue and non of the warning lights showing up to the party :(
The charging circuit goes via this relay but not sure if its just using the pin as a convenient tag?
It was suggested my issies were caused by the OVP but Ive now illiminated this If...
Its nearly a month since my w124 moved now and my electrical is starting to do my head in!
Ive started checking everything and now fully understand the circuit

Thanks Bruce but the regulator is brand new :thumb:
Been out today to try and get an old school screwdriver style bulb tester but gave up as they are so flimsy compared to the old ones :(
They look as if they may catch fire if they went anywhere near a couple of volts
Ill work something...
Thank You Ted
Only problem is my alternator has a molded 3 pin plug
When connected I assume the light would com on immediately as its not switched?
But after starting should go out pretty much like the dashboard light?
I am guessing it would then charge the battery as it should?
I am a little confused to how that idea works? If the bulb is between battery positive and exciter wire on alternator would the battery now power the light whether the ignition was on or not?
And upon starting the engine would this set up/bypass extinguish the light connected to the positive...
Is there any way to bypass the alternator charge light just for diagnosis purposes?
I found this on Benzworld but it seems a little too simplistic and I wouldn't want to blow anything

Sounds like Duo valves to me too!
I Think it was Stu who told me about them?
If you want to eliminate them switch your heating off completely all your controls to Minimum until they click and see if the noise stops?
Not as simple as counting the duration I tried that they can vary :crazy...
