I had a brilliant idea and bought an ML320, now I need to clean it, many, many times.

Had a go at polishing up the headlights yesterday, the O/S one just won't come up as well. This of course led to more cleaning in that area and the removal of the washer bottle to clean the back mould out of it, an airline up the washer hose has cleared the blockages from that too so another...

The exotic dancer tassel look wasn't really working for me let alone clearing the rear screen anyway.

Well, I need a lie down after that trip to MB Maidstone! I have collected a few of the parts I need for the next stage of the work on the ML which isn't really detailing related but tenuously, what did I spy in the car park? A well known and exceptionally clean C63 looking equally...

    Tow bar

I read somewhere that the ML55 was the only AMG approved for towing, I doubt that is gospel but I know most BMW M cars can't have them so I wouldn't be surprised. I'd love to see you tear a caravan in half with the torque from the C63 though :cool:

There is far too much peer pressure on here to repair these seats, I feel I will soon buckle! Almost certainly I will do them as people have suggested for the cost of some dye to do it, it's a great value for money exercise. One kind member offered me some to try, I must take them up on that...

Hey mods, is this worthy of a Project Post? I have spent a lot of time locating a radiator for it today and there is a whole bunch more work to be done that isn't detailing as I work through the issues on this. There will be a lot more cleaning and detailing of course.

That's the "Failed drug dealer" or "Stop 'n' Search" tints removed. To say they had faded over time is an understatement. I don't have anything against privacy glass on the back of a car unless you have: Removed the styling effort that a manufacturer went to to make the car pillar-less a la...

+1, Black wheels 🤢 It was big 10 years ago but they never come out in photos, nor do they look cleaner than silver as black shows everything. That is of course just my opinion which should make no difference to the OP, to each their own and all that. Hats off to you for the repair, it is...

The front plate isn't quite straight either. Grr. I really don't need a runaround car, we have 4 now and I hate the shuffling on the driveway when you want the one over to the side (First world problems I suppose). I think once I've got it mechanically spot on as well it will be a nice thing...

    ML320 W63 Rear door 1/4 window removal?

Tried this last night, now there are bits of tint remaining around the rubber that I can't get to, it's not easy to see but I know it's there. Has anyone got a WIS on how to remove the glass? There doesn't seem to be anything when I look at EPC...

    ML320 W63 Rear door 1/4 window removal?

No, there isn't enough give in it as it's been done with the window removed. It will just make a cleaner job of the removal if I take the glass out. It can't be that hard to do!

Advice please (steering wheel & seat belts)

Every day is a school day. I have used the Renapur with great success but only the cleaner. I can well imaging what you say about the vaseline aspect, the small pot that we have really looks greasy and I wouldn't want to put that on my car anywhere.

Not helping guys! This is supposed to be a cheap festival wagon! I have to say that in spite of the grime, current faults and it's insatiable appetite for fuel (*considers the Mustang to be cheaper to run), I actually really like the car. Hopefully MB will have a whole load of parts for me...

    ML320 W63 Rear door 1/4 window removal?

Can anyone tell me what is holding the upright in place for this little window and how I can remove the glass? (Avoiding the obvious hammer trick) I am trying to remove the 20 year old gangsta tint from my new labour of love, it's so faded and now has a slightly purple hue to it, it simply...

More progress today, fitted a cheap stereo with Apple CarPlay which of course had to be opened and modified so it works the way I want it to (This really needs a Projects thread, what level to I need to be to do that? Is it post count?). Anyway, back to the cleaning part. I stripped down the...

My youngest spent about 4 hours with me yesterday helping to clean the ML, I was amazed at the dedication from a 6 year old. It's a huge improvement!

Small amount of progress yesterday in result but in effort it was substantial. The tunnel actually looks worse for more than ten passes of shampoo, steam, brush and wet-vac as that is just how much dirt is ground in where there has never been a mat to protect it. I need to leave it now to dry...
