    The Football Thread

Grealish over Mount all day. No idea why Mount was left on for so long and he left Grealish on the bench. That was mistake. He needed to make a change or/and push the team up the pitch before Italy scored the equaliser, that goal was always coming. Kane's looked unfit this tournament, didn't...

    Police caution for simple accident

Interesting development to this thread. My mother received a call from her insurance and insurance solicitors today informing her there is an investigation involving the moped delivery driver for fraud because he has had two accidents before the incident and another two afterwards and didn't...

Scrapes on lower bumper - Advice

No such thing. Cyprus haha. I just know they are well recommended and did a previous side panel for me and matched it well. It's difficult because I have to make a decision between a possible bad colour match of the whole bumper respray vs a bad touch up or blend of just that scrape area.

Scrapes on lower bumper - Advice

You mean touch it up yourself? Or get the garage to do it? Because it's sort of on the curve and going under I thought it might be easier to blend than usual. It's definitely jagged and rough so touching it up myself will be difficult. I'l ask the garage but I'm guessing they'll want to...

Nagging feeling petrol station attendant just put diesel in my car

There are pay at pump contactless machines here in Cyprus i.e you can insert cash, insert your card or also touch the screen with contactless payment all within about half meter of some pumps. Can't remember in UK.

Scrapes on lower bumper - Advice

Does anyone think it would be a better option to ask them to just repair/respray that lower section on both corners and blend it or let them respray the whole bumper if they want to do that?

Nagging feeling petrol station attendant just put diesel in my car

I was brought up in the UK. I can speak the language, but you would always say "95, petrol" it's the same thing really. The issue wasn't really the language barrier in the main, it was more the fact I didn't see where he pulled the pump from because even if you tell them, you usually need to...

Scrapes on lower bumper - Advice

I managed to go into a dodgy dusty car-park here in Cyprus last summer and managed to scrape my lower bumper on a divot/pot hole. I am since being extra careful over speed-bumps because some are not exactly within normal specifications and avoiding dirt roads and non tarmac car parks etc. There...

Nagging feeling petrol station attendant just put diesel in my car

Are you being serious? I won't mention anything about Cyprus or manners etc. Being a British Cypriot with a different upbringing and experiences , I'm not sure customer service or manners even exists here a lot of the time but regardless not that I have to explain myself but pulling into a...

Nagging feeling petrol station attendant just put diesel in my car

Are we talking about using the phone in general or actively making calls standing at a pump for example? I can't remember because I've been spending a lot of time abroad during the last few years but don't some pay at pump systems have mobile contactless payment i.e you'd need to your your phone...

Nagging feeling petrol station attendant just put diesel in my car

Any way you can elaborate on that anti-misfuel device and how it works for those of us who were unaware such a thing existed pre-fitted in newer cars? Can't say I've ever heard of it. Edit: Ah, from YouTube it looks like it's something on the opening to basically block the wrong pump going in.

Where do you suggest I put my phone which is in my car as I pull into a petrol station?

Nagging feeling petrol station attendant just put diesel in my car

Just got back from the petrol station. Diesel pump doesn't fit in the fuel opening properly but you could probably hold it at the opening where it makes contact with the opening and get some diesel in there as well as on the car and your hands, but I'm going to go with the thought process that...

Nagging feeling petrol station attendant just put diesel in my car

Considering I started it and drove it the short journey home..I might take it back later this evening when everyone's gone home, and see if the diesel nozzle fits inside the hole. If it doesn't fit or really difficult, I guess that will put an end to it and put my mind at ease. If it does...

No. The tank was nearly empty. 20 euros fills it up to just under halfway.

Nagging feeling petrol station attendant just put diesel in my car

Thanks guys. Okay, maybe it's just because I didn't see this time and was distracted I have that little bit of doubt. I smelt inside the cap and I got a petrol type of smell but I can't really confess to being able to tell the difference because I've never used diesel. The car did start and...

Nagging feeling petrol station attendant just put diesel in my car

Just read that diesel pumps sometimes don't fit inside of petrol cars. But it is Cyprus so sometimes all logic goes out the window here! Maybe that's a possibility and a diesel pump wouldn't even fit.

Nagging feeling petrol station attendant just put diesel in my car

I started it at the pump, then looked at the pumps and where the guy took the pump from and then it hit me as I started driving out. I pulled over just outside but decided to drive the short journey home. I checked the car for the receipt but threw it straight in the bin as I walked out the shop...
