Thanks for all your replies. I guess back in '95 MB thought it was more important to have a soft closing boot than a decent alarm system.

I have a '95 220T and want to know if it has an alarm /immobiliser fitted. I looked at the specs on the Russian site and it's not down as one of the original options chosen. I can't belive MB would sell a car in '95 for £30k and not have a standard alarm/immobiliser fitted:eek: Oh well, one...

I couldn't seriously drive around in a car made of sponge cake and icing sugar with lights made of jelly. Probably safe in a crash though:) .

The guy in the MB dealers said some were made by Bosch and some Hirschmann. He showed me the Hirschmann replacement, it was almost identical to the Bosch. I also went to GSF and was told they had "nothing like that" and to go to MB

Re synching I had a problem resynching a key for my E220 estate. Following the instructions in the handbook didn't work but advise from this forum did the trick. 1. With the car locked 2. Point and press the button at the driver door sensor for 5 seconds 3. Go around to the passenger side...
