Poll - Do you use winter tyres?

Yes - on c estate and also Saab 9-5 estate. My wife had fun cruising up our road last week in the merc and reverse parking in the drive as our rather annoying neighbour got stuck in his fwd Audi A6.... We live in semi rural Perthshire where it's often cold. Winter tyres give you so much more...

E350 Estate or CLS350 Shooting Break?

E class. When our kids were that age we had one and it was the best car ice ever had (a 1999 240 avantgarde auto). SB lovely but e class ideal for what you need! Sent from my iPhone using MBClub UK

Driving to France for skiing trip

If it were me I'd invest in some all weather tyres like the good year ones and use them year round. Maybe not ideal for a c63 though if you use its performance! The difference they make on slippery roads is amazing and for year round use entirely acceptable unless going to the limits. Sent from...

C32 AMG estate: yes or no?

I'd say something unpleasant has happened at the front judging by fitment round the headlights? Combined with missing wing badges has it had a front end crash? Sent from my iPhone using MBClub UK

Anyone seen any good number plates on cars lately?

    A while ago now, but saw 10 TAX on a volvo cabriolet. Guess he had some issues with HMRC! { }

autoebid - any good or bad experiences?

No direct experience but a friend bought a volvo successfully using them. I tried them when buying my new Mercedes, but starting expected price was only marginally better than local dealer was offering. J Sent from my iPhone using MBClub UK

    Winter tyres again :(

I've had experience of kumho, goidyear, avon, falken and nokian tyres albeit on my wife and my saabs - one manual and one auto. . I'd go nokian every time if they are reasonably priced. They are as good as any others in snow, but the real advantage I've found is performance in the wet or if it...

What rubber have you got at the rear?

I've got the uniroyals on the front of my Saab 9-5 replacing goodyearF1's which I still have on the back. Very similar performance and, as you'd expect, very very good in the wet. Had them intorrential rain on French motorway and car was as solid as a rock I'd recommend them. And they were a...

Winter wheels for new c-class w205

Any suggestions where I can get some. Happy with steel ones. A trawl on the net doesn't find anyone with spec for the new model. I'm sure that can't be true! I can get genuine MB ones but they are £1700!!! Thanks Sent from my iPhone using MBClub UK

    New car tax question

Under the new rules, I think that when you transfer the car the new owner must immediately tax it. When you send the transfer document in to DVLA, they send you a refund of unexpired tax. I think.... Sent from my iPhone using MBClub UK

    MB Newbie intro

Nice to get validation of the decision - we were really disappointed in the volvo when we tried it. Big discount available, but although we liked the look of the car, driving it was a real let down. As far as star goes, the arc it makes when cornering never ceased to make me feel smug! J...

    MB Newbie intro

Hi New to this forum as my wife takes delivery next week of her new c-class estate. It's a c200 petrol sport auto in white with black interior. We looked at this car and a volvo V60 - Mercedes so much better when trying them out back to back. It's replacing our long loved 2006 SAAB 9-5...
