    Vito suspension (H&R)

Sorry. Missed all of these replies. Haven't had any problems with geometry so far but it may be too early to tell. I had the tracking done soon after sorting the suspension and fitting the alloys. That site is legit and their service was exceptional. Speed of delivery was amazing seeing as...

    Vito W639 Headlight upgrade

There is one doing the rounds (from China or Poland) but you still need to fit HID's to it. It works out at about £500 all in...then you have to get them fitted!!!!

Check your door hasn't been bent/twisted out of alignment as the hinges aren't up to a lot!

    Lowering on hold.

The standard shocks will work fine with 35mm lower springs as long as they are in good condition. I have run many vehicles with 40mm lowering springs on standard shocks without any problems as standard shocks have a wide range of operation. When you go lower than 40mm is when you should be...

    Vito suspension (H&R)

I recently bought some H&R lowering springs from: duw-tuner.de - H&R Federn 29226-1 Mercedes W639 I email them regarding getting their VAT taken off as I am a VAT paying company and after a few emails they duly obliged and sent me a revised invoice. I received them within a week and they came...

W639 Bilstein B4's, Sachs or Monroe shocks?

Decided on the Sachs as from reviews around the web opinions seemed to be quite even on the Sachs and Bilsteins...that and I managed to get them for £50 each!

    Thanks Spax!!!!

Thank you for sticking your head above the parapet but let me further clarify your points. 1. Yes I did but I should not have had to wait anywhere near as long to get things sorted with you. 2. From the first call you made it clear you would REPAIR them. Replacement was not mentioned until I...

W639 Bilstein B4's, Sachs or Monroe shocks?

If I remember rightly, his problem was bushes. I have checked mine as well as I can but everything points to either top mount or shock (or both) on the nearside front. The problem has was bad when I first got the van and seemed to get better of it's own volition. What it actually did was take...

W639 Bilstein B4's, Sachs or Monroe shocks?

Ha ha, yeah the Vito is a van. I will be lowering shortly to improve the ride and the handling and will be replacing the shocks with it. Although the springs are loer, they are only 40mm lower and so it is fine to use standard (or standard spec) shocks, so long as they are in good condition...

W639 Bilstein B4's, Sachs or Monroe shocks?

Just bought some H&R springs to go on my 2006 Vito. I want to replace my shocks as there is a small posibility they are creating my knocking noise. I have replaced suspension arms and steering arms but there is still a knock. It is likely to be the top mount but could also be the shock. As they...

    Thanks Spax!!!!

Not a bad price either. I will probably be buying a set of these once the refund has cleared. Can get them quite cheap from Euro car part as I am a big trade customer of theirs but I have also found some from tuning companies in Germany that I could get delivered for around £180!

    Thanks Spax!!!!

Spring loaded have refunded me and they have been goo as gold. It was the way in which SPAX have dealt with the whole situation that has irked me. Spring loaded also told me that SPAX suspension give them the most problems of all their suppliers! My post was just a simple warning to others to...

    Thanks Spax!!!!

Spax have just been incredibly poor with me too. Bought a set of springs from spring loaded (cheaper than going direct), when they arrived (direct from SPAX) the powder coating on 3 of the springs was damaged. Spring loaded passed my details along with some pictures on to SPAX and Kevin Byrne...

    W639 Vito Starting Fault

I contacted the auto electrician again yesterday and he didn't seem to interested which is unusual, as he normally wont drop something until it's fixed. After this I decided to let a couple of my Mechanics loose on it as I had nothing to lose. Within an hour they had diagnosed and temporarily...

    W639 Vito Starting Fault

Cheers. When the sparks tested on Monday, he said that the ignition was sending a signal but the ECU didn't appear to be sending this on. I know this isn't true now so I think I may need to start continuity testing some wires! I hate electrics!

    W639 Vito Starting Fault

I eventually managed to remove the steering lock yesterday. A tip for all those looking to do it is to turn the retaining pin as if your undoing it...this way you wont butcher the star head of the pin! I swapped all 3 parts from my brothers van and the same thing happened. Just to double check...

    W639 Vito Starting Fault

Managed to find a pdf detailing the steering lock removal and it doesn't look too bad so I will have a go at removing mine tomorrow and then swap over the whole lot from my brothers van.

    W639 Vito Starting Fault

Had the aouto electrician back yesterday and after some testing with a laptop connected he has said that the starter relay seems fine and the ignition is sending a 'start' signal down to the ECU when you turn the key so he is leaning towards the ECU at fault. He has gone away to ask a couple of...
