Just had my E320 petrol, W211, a/c regassed for £40 at local garage. Certainly useful this weather but my fuel consumption has increased by 20%!!

I have an E320 '03 first registered in May. Mercedes started galvanising their cars around this date, so how can I find out if mine was done? I have no evidence of rust so hopefully it was .

So what happens if you do not have a certificate for your car & you drive into zone?

I have an 03 E320 which has a switch on the dash to raise the rear headrests when required. Recently, when I had rear seat passengers, the headrests would not raise when the switch was pressed. The motor could be heard running to no effect. Any ideas what's wrong?

I have a W211, E320 petrol & find that according to my mpg read out, 75-80mph is the most economical speed. I get around 33mpg on the motorways, but it drops to 30mpg at 60-65mph. Hard to believe but that's what it says.

I have an '03, E320 petrol which has done 68k. I am having it serviced soon - should I have the ATF fluid replaced? It is running fine but I have no service record of this fluid being done.

Are you sure it's not the plastic lens cover that needs polishing? I had to do mine on my E320 , 04, hard work but worthwhile result. There are several kits available & demonstrations on "you tube".

Just got back from my hols. in Czech Republic, where I did about 2k. On the autobahn, I cruised at 90/100 mph where possible & the computer showed around 32 mpg, which was good. I found the most economical cruising speed was 80/85 mph where it showed 34mpg. Cruising around 70 only showed 30mpg...
