No w218/212 rear airsprings/bellows in uk and on back order in Germany with no ETA

I've just fitted a pair of Arnott's to my 218. They're a pretty common replacement part for all cars with air springs, not just Merc. I cant comment on their effectiveness etc. but compared to the pair i took off (which were absolutely shagged) they are amazing!

    Turbo leak checks

on my 350 I could visibly hear the air escaping. Initially I thought it was from the inlet pipe to the turbo so i replaced the orange seal and the PCV seal too. That didn't fix it but the noise was still coming from that area. In the end it turned out to be the green seal in the turbo pipe...

    OM642 PCV Upgrade

changed mine at the weekend on my 350 bluefficiency. No symptoms or anything wrong, just changed based on mileage. As you can see,the old one was pretty worn. I assume it to be the original.

    Winter Wheels

the bolt sizes are the same too from memory, m14 x1.5. the merc centre bore is 66.6, the Q2 appears to be 57.1 so with a spigot you should be ok. give them a try, if its no good you haven't lost anything and can sell them, happy days. If they do fit you can keep them and happy days.

    Calling all EQC Drivers

Do they run quite aggressive camber on the rear of an EQC to combat the weight and help it feel more planted and predictable when cornering in regards to the weight transfer? SUV's suffer more with this. The early X5's were well renowned for it. They handled great but at the expense of tyre...

Finding an owners manual for a 2005 w213 E200k Sedan

you can downlead owners manuals from the Mercedes website. they have the 211 on there in 2008 guise but it should be largely similar i would have thought.

    20116 X218 350d Fuel Filter access

funnily enough, i just faced the same issue on my X218 as i needed to replace the turbo pipe o rings. I too decided that loosening off the resonator was too much of a ballache for me and the risk of dropping things or breaking things was too high so i put it in up at the local garage. They had...

7g gearbox on W212 E300 not changing gears until 2.5k revs

ah, just seen your codes. did the problems only start after the service? If so, and this might sound obvious, but check they plugged all the sensors back in. If everything is ok give everything a visual check firstly for splits, and then run the engine and listen out-some air leaks are pretty...

7g gearbox on W212 E300 not changing gears until 2.5k revs

whilst I'm not saying it isn't a gearbox issue that a service might sort, there are other things that can cause the gearbox to seemingly "play up". MAF sensor issues, air leaks etc etc.

Mpg record ! Wow E350 bluetec

fwiw the trip computer on my 350 is pretty accurate but then I am running a different size tyre which takes out the speedo difference (that will also cause the trip computer to overread). Mine usually reads anything between 42-45 over a tank (all motorway-my commute is Leeds to London and I...

    Roof bars and Box

yeah, for thule the bars are pretty generic, you just buy the specific fitting "feet" kit. for what its worth i bought the thule fitting kit specific to my car and i think the bars were from something else but they all fit together fine.

    W218 CLS 350 mega spec......

2011 is a bit early. Even my 2013 isn't which stings a bit at 12.50 a pop. But the lower purchase price offsets at least a year's worth of ulez payments for me.

    X218 CLS Rear Shock Change

Morning All, just a quick one. I'll shortly be replacing both rear airbags on my SB. on the basis that they've both been leaking they cant have been doing the shocks any favours at all so I'm going to replace them at the same time. The airbags can all be done underneath the car but I'm assuming...

    car history

in the last 3 years I've had 11 cars. (covid slowed me down lol). best year (or worst depending on how you look at it) was 7. I usually average 3-4 cars a year. sometimes that can mean running 2 cars and swapping out a second car regularly or just swapping out the daily every few months or every...

    B8 Passat

fwiw ive had various versions of the 2ltr diesel in the later VAG products and the 150bhp version in most respects was better than the higher powered 181/184/190's etc. In real world application it didn't really feel massively slower (smaller turbo so quicker to spool up), only in full throttle...
