Park Assists Disabled on all new Mercedes help!

Just as a counterpoint to those saying park assist is pointless or doesn’t work. I only have on-street parking where I live so I use the park assist every time I return home. It works well for me 95% of the time (I have a GLC which is old enough to have full parking assist). I wouldn’t buy...

    Do dealerships give gifts?

Nope. I’ve bought two new Mercs, both factory ordered through the dealer, and received nothing. Different dealers, both just pointed us to them in the car parks when we went to pick them up. First one, a C class coupe, fortunately I noticed before I drove off that they’d made a typo on the reg...

    Sensor problem NOX sensor

So I went ahead and called Mobilo who passed me to the RAC who passed me to a local recovery operator who collected my GLC and (hopefully) took it to the local MB dealer who has the NOx sensor on order for me. I say hopefully because I’ve still had no contact from them (that was Friday, this is...

    Nox Sensor Fault

Not once the “Eng. start not possible in 500 miles” error appears and counts down to zero. According to the local MB dealer that cannot be reset or bypassed. MB customer services advised running it down to zero then having Mobilo recover it to the dealer, which I have now done. Still waiting for...

    Nox Sensor Fault

I’ve been waiting two months so far, after my GLC came up with the “start not possible in 500 miles” error. Some folk on the board seem to get theirs replaced very quickly, others seem to wait months. MB insist they can’t tell when my dealer might get one. Not ideal when the car is inoperable...

    Sensor problem NOX sensor

Eight weeks now since I paid the “diagnostic fee” and the NOx sensor was ordered for my GLC, no sign of it becoming available. Last update was a text from the dealer three weeks ago saying they’re awaiting the part still. In the meantime we have been eking out the 500 mile countdown saving the...

    Brake Caliper Covers GLC

Hi I’ve had the rear brake pads replaced on my GLC and it’s now very noticeable (no doubt due to the nice clean new pads) there are no brake caliper covers on the rear wheels. There are covers on the front wheels. Slightly embarrassingly I can’t remember now whether the car originally had...

    MO Tyres

My GLC came with factory fitted Yokohama tyres. Blackcircles lists them in a MO variation (they're 235/60 R18 103V).

    W205 illuminated door handles

Yes, both rear ones replaced on my GLC under warranty. Only one of the rear handle lights had gone. They must know that some are dodgy as they replaced both rear ones. The two they replaced were a noticeably "warmer" shade of white than the two front handles (and the replacements).

GLC Creaking from front when going over speed bumps.

The grease fix seems to have worked for my GLC. Haven't done a lot of miles since, but the creaking has disappeared and stayed away. The car is much more pleasant to drive without that accompaniment! They also replaced both rear door handle LEDs not just the one which had failed. I had noticed...

GLC Creaking from front when going over speed bumps.

Fortunately, nothing as it is all under warranty (the car is under 6 months old)!

GLC Creaking from front when going over speed bumps.

My GLC also developed a fairly constant creaking noise from the suspension about 3 months ago. Not just at speed bumps, but in normal driving. It takes at least a couple of weeks to get a service appointment at my local MB dealer, so it went in a few weeks ago to get this sorted, as well as...

    New version of MercedesMe

The second feature listed in the email I received yesterday (headed "Mercedes me connect Release 2.0") sounds more useful to me: Digital Vehicle Key From the middle of this year, you will be able to open, close and even start your vehicle using your smartphone, courtesy of near field...

Knocking on steering on new GLC

Need to get mine resolved somehow. A couple of days ago I was entering a multi-storey car park which required a tight turn with fairly full lock just after the entrance barrier, and going forwards very slowly and gingerly the sideways jumping was so bad the car almost jumped sideways into the...

    First Merc. Initial impressions

I have the premium plus pack on my GLC and I can confirm it has Linguatronic. I have only tried the voice dialling a couple of times but it's worked perfectly both times. According to the brochure it's part of the COMAND Online system included in the premium plus pack. It's just in very small...

Knocking on steering on new GLC

Thank you. Still not sure what to do. I am considering asking a good local indy garage (which I've used before for my W203) to look at it and give me an opinion. I haven't raised it with the dealer yet, but I don't really trust them to give an unbiased response and I don't want to go down...

Knocking on steering on new GLC

Mine is definitely different. Reversing into a parking space this morning, with not quite full lock on, it was jumping quite violently to the side, going further sideways than it was backwards at one point. Had to straighten up and have another go at it at a less acute angle. Not sure what...

Knocking on steering on new GLC

Finally picked up my GLC at the weekend. Love it apart from this issue. Trying to go forwards or backwards with reasonable steering lock on, it judders and jumps sideways in small increments quite badly. This is an issue for me as I live in a narrow street and have to do a 3-point turn to...

What do you want to know?

I am learning to simply ignore whatever MB promise. Another example - anyone remember the Apple Watch app announcement, to launch "this Fall"? Mercedes-Benz has an Apple Watch app, too...
