You are quite right, it is clearly not a vehicle for everybody. The i3 for me is solely a commuter vehicle with a daily round trip of 40 miles, so it should be ideal (I hope!). We do have the luxury of a long wheelbase VW T5 combi van which serves as the family load lugger for those long...

So, after 24 moths and 24,000 miles later it is time to hand the C350e keys back to MB in a few weeks. It’s amazing to see that this thread has received nearly 400,000 views, and that’s for a single model within the entire C class range, I think that shows the impact this car has, and will...

Dealer is right, front and back are different sizes, however mine were all completely indentical in finish. The only area that is now different is where they have been re-cut. Do yours look like the finish in my photo??

That's usually a sign that they've had a re-cut. I had one damaged which MB refurbished and you can see the variation and cut lines on the rim.

Good shout, but it has been doing this at various states of charge and fuel. It just so happened that the photos I took last night where at the end of the journey rather than whilst driving, so I had rundown the fuel thanks to no electric! However, this morning 100% charge, no e-mode (photo...

Well....., so much for the relay switch recall fixing the issue, I still have no access to the electric motor :fail Even when I'm sat idle the ICE is still running and e-mode is unavailable. I'm basically driving a thirsty 2ltr turbo  So, car's going back in, again, for how long this...

I've just seen the MB notice at the dealer. The relay switch that I've just had replaced along with the rear wiring loom are both recall notices. It sounds like they are phasing the letters to customers for both these items.

After 2 1/2 months in the body shop (curtousy of an ar*e who rear ended me) I finally got the car back last week, only for it to go straight back in!!! The car was sending out an amber error message relating to the battery, requiring the car to be stopped. I'm pleased to say I've just...

Thanks for the kind words all, much appreciated. I didn't notice the belts tighten, nor did the airbags go off, but I imagine the detection of a front impact alone would trigger them. They certainly went off in his 630i. I'll keep you posted on the feedback from MB. I'm interested to learn how...

After enjoying a lovely warm pre-heated car this morning the AC noise soon became irrelevant after a kind gentlemen rear ended me at high speed causing extensive damage to the back of my 350 :( Watching the police pull off the panels so they could move it to safety almost brought a tear to my...

I also have this sound, I first noticed it about two weeks ago. Its like a clicking / stretching sound on the passenger side that starts about 15-20seconds after starting, and lasts about 20 secs. The fact that we are all getting suggests that it isn't something individual, but I certainly...

    C350e charging system corrosion poll

As an early owner mine was one of the first to corrode. It is a known problem and should be a recall. It's not a case of if, but when. Since the new loom has been fitted all is well :thumb: I would suspect that cars manufactured from early 16 will have the modified wiring.

    C350e anyone considering one?

Personally I use the sunroof whenever I can, just love the open top feel. As for the pano, my kids love the view from the back.

I understand your point now, and very valid. At times in Hybrid the ICE is also charging the battery, especially if a destination has been set in the satnav, so that will eat into the mpg too. Taking that into account I still think the ICE is sub 30mpg thank's to a heavy backside full of battery.

I was going to tell MB something similar at the C350e market research meeting in London tomorrow.

    C350e anyone considering one?

Hi Dodgy 1. Yes, I'm using the OFF reading for the electric miles. I have considered that if the engine is OFF, then the engine isn't running, even at idle, in which case no fuel is going to the engine. So even if the car isn't running in E-mode it is still travelling / moving without...

    C350e anyone considering one?

MB have invited me to a C350e Market Research event this weekend which has brought the inner geek out in me as I thought I'd analyse how the car has performed from an efficiency perspective so that it's green credentials could be discussed based on facts. I've had the car for 13 months and...

If my maths is correct, 711 miles total, 517 miles with engine off (ie using electric motor), that means a whole take of fuel has only done 198 miles!? I know the tank is small but........ Have I missed something?

Maserati Quattroporte - Am I Mad?

Contrary to popular misconceptions my experience would support this comment. I've owned an Alfa 156, 166 and currently a 4c (made by Maser in Modena btw) and not a single hiccup. Whereas my 7 month old MB C350e has already spent more unscheduled time in the garage than all 3 of these put...
