I will answer my own question. Latest Map is version V8.0. Went to pick my car up and asked if they had updated the map... My car is now 2 years 362 days old so wanted my last free update. They hadn't done the update by the way... but a couple of hours later they have now. Curious why they say...

Ok I get my car back tomorrow. Is there anywhere I can find out what is the latest Map version? I think mine is a NTG 5.1. The current map is version 6.0. I am looking and it is saying versions are V18... Surely this is a different model to mine. Early 2015 CLS 350

That is something I didn't even think about, changing engine number! Yes it looks likely that I will have to get a tier one extended warranty. Was half hoping I could avoid it if the engine had it's own warranty, taking a chance on the rest of the vehicle, but hey ho..

No.. They were didn't seem to know. They also thought it strange just one shell scored. I will ask them again when i pick the car up, probably at the end of next week. Any other questions you think I should be asking? I will ask how long this engine is guaranteed for.

My CLS has been in the garage for 1.5 weeks with an *un-diagnosal problem, 3 weeks left of my original warranty.. hopefully if it goes beyond the three year date they will still get it right!
