Right guys, may be a bit of bad news as i had a similar problem with my merc clk240 w209, since mines was a 2002 model it was the upgraded model from the w208 and what happens is that the radiator seeps water and steam into the gearbox cooler and this in turn over time starts to make the gearbox...

lovely cars these mercs, but make sure all the electrics are in working order and check all oil and coolant aswel as gearbox. give it a good drive for any knocks in the suspension. possibly go for the bigger engine model as these i would think would be under powered by the cars weight but thats...
