Does anyone know how easy/difficult it is to retrofit electric rear windows to a vito (W639) ? On mine they're on little manual catches (they only tilt open a fraction). On my previous vito which was a V280 they were electric which was dead handy.

Okay, first ones I believe are a Dutch cigar, using tobacco from various countries, the second could be either Cuban or Dominican Republic. Not,a clue what they would have cost in the first place.

Basically what giantvanman said. You've nothing to lose in trying to rehydrate. Soak oasis (green stuff for plants) with de ionised water ( must t be deionised), place in resealable plastic freezer bag. Or send me one and I'll see what can be done

Depends on where they were stored. An unopened box of cigars in a drawer or in say your living room, will start to dry out after a couple of months. If stored in the right humidity range, will last indefinitely. Best bet is open and see how badly they've dried out, but could well be knackered...

Ok, have now managed to remove unit, and have identified make "steel mate". Thanks for all the help, will now try to find out why I'm not getting power to them

At least now I can pull the system apart without worrying I'm buggering up expensive oe equipment and possibly affecting the front system, they're clearly totally separate, which is a relief.

Ok, thanks for that. I just assumed it was factory due to the display units front and back which seemed to fit the description in the owners manual. Will have to dig deeper and see if I can figure out why the rears not working, still think it might be due to installation of the towbar. Will take...

Pretty sure they are genuine Merc, but will try to check further, was assuming they were genuine as have the proper parktronic light system front and back (on dash and in rear head liner. The fronts work in neutral or drive, so assumed rear would work the same, but even in reverse I get nothing...
