"WHEN I BOUGHT IT THIS PICTURE IS BEFOR I REPAIRED IT SO YOU CAN SEE HOW SMALL IT WAS ,THE INSURANCE COMPANY PAID OUT AND WOULD NOT REPAIR IT BECAUSE OF ITS AGE IT IS REGISTERED ON HPI AS CAT C UN ECONOMIC REPAIR" - this is copied & pasted from the cars description, poor grammar and all

    280SE - mileage altered?

Dont forget this car is Category C write off. Drivers side wing does not look a good match to rest of car. Only one picture of passenger side. No picture of front of car. As the man says - Buyer Beware !!

    Would a steering wheel from a W208 fit a W202?

The ad says its for a pre-facelift car ie without the steering wheel controls. Note also its grey not black. Suspect you could recolour the leather though.

    Genuine/replicas ..17''/18''?????

I would go for 18" on a W210. Also, go for AMG originals. You should be able to source a mint set of originals with good tyres for not much more than a set of new reps with economy tyres. The originals will have a good resale value too - keep your old wheels and put them back on when you sell...

    AMG replica alloys for W202

Faced with the same dilemma I bought 4 brand new amg alloys + new tyres via ebay for only about 100 quid more than replica tyre & wheel deals. Also check with your insurance co. before you fit reps as they may load your premium (Nowwich Union wanted an extra 120 quid to cover non oem wheels)

Norwich Union - Pay As You Drive

Wee wifey is on the NU pay as you drive pilot. It lasts for two years - it will be interesting to see that if it is adopted, what the renewal premium will be. Its just another way for an insurance co, to take low risk drivers out of the insurance pool, in the same way that Esure may target...

    Black chrome trim

Try using Autoglym "Car Glass Polish" - used on the black anodized aluminium surroundind windows etc. - works well without need to wax afterwards (cleans the surrounding rubber too) - PS its cr*p as a glass cleaner!

    CLK Cab Roof not Working!!!

check the obvious first - load cover/load cover switch, car in park, engine running etc. if still no joy maybe make sure all joints in the hydraulic lines are tight. I think they are located behind the rear seats (there`s another thread on this) if still no success then its a trip to the dealers....

How tight should my nuts be

if you have locking wheel nuts then use a torque wrench and copper ease (or similar) on the threads. I used to "guess" the torque and conequently overtightened the nuts, McGuard type locking wheel nuts can fall to bits when you try and remove them.
