Yes staggered setup. I have a set off rims same size as front. I didnt think it would make much difference to handling as the same car in elegance spec has the same size wheels.

I'm in hartlepool north east I've tried mercedes and prestige (independent) but both want more than the car is worth to maybe fix it. Some garages won't even look at it and say take it to dealer.

I've tried loads of garages and i haven't found a decent one yet . I will get someone to check the oil leak and and see what they think the noise could be if its only the oil dripping down over night i can live with that . Thanks mark

Thanks for the replies. The mechanic in a local garage thought it had something to do with oil pressure so changed the oil and filter I'm not sure what spec it was probably just what mercedes says to use but didn't fix anything. There was talk of the timing chain tensioner and possible timing...

Thanks for the help on the tyres. The front had 245/40/17s on and these are to wide for the 7.5 rims and its never felt right so I've just gone 225/45/17 All round on staggered wheels. I went for michelin crossclimate so Il see how these go.
