Hi peeps Anyone got the glass only to sell on a 2008 E280CDI? I have what I presume to be the auto dimming glass on the drivers side (motor not working for side to side on that one though) but 'standard' glass on passenger (heating not working on this one). I would like them both to match...

thanks for the quick reply. the manual says there are two modes one to just move up and down as you describe, ie semi auto but also one called derestricted I think. When I try the box sometimes it doesnt seem to chanvce like its overiding my input, sometimes it will drop down and indicate say...

Hi peeps another potentially idiotic question. My auto transmission on my E280CDI - different to the 7G apart from the flappy paddles? When I want to use the D+, D- it seems to operate not quite how I expect - it doesnt seem to shift up and down as I want? The op manual is just confusing me...

at the risk of sounding like I don't know what I'm on about (I don't) I have gauged the play at more like 15 degress, but the thing is turn it o one side and it hits the stop turn it the other and it feels like, if it wasn't for the lack of power steering I could overcome the lock....

I shall ignore the puns! Its a 58 plate E280CDI. The car seems A1 in other respects. Could this be a major issue? Rich

thanks for the reply and I realise I was totally unclear in my OP. What I meant to say was when the steering wheel is locked after I remove the key it has said play. I am not automotively articulate! Sorry!

Hi All I have about 30 degrees of play in the steering wheel when on lock. Is this normal - I am used to cars which have virtually none. Any advice appreciated. (I searched forum prior to post) Thanks Rich

dont think so - as far as I know its come from an auction passed through the dealer to me - no evidence of a recent wax or polish! Although saying that the inside is in excellent condition - like new really - so the previous owner(s) certainly looked after the car, I think, so maybe its occured...

I recon something has taken a layer of whatever the glass is finished with. I will try Cif (or Jif to old gets like me) in, as they say, an inconspicuous area and let you know. thanks Rich
