That....I think on mine it doesn't beep at me until I'm very close to something, the visual indicator is what you have to watch. Annoyingly, the way I have my rear view mirror set up, the bars aren't in my natural eyeline. But that's a personal thing

Update is that I have found someone who will weld it but I've also found a "like new" wheel relatively locally and so bought that.
